Did not like this place at all
Forgotten actual date, but we did not like this house at all. It wasn't charming, just old. Hot tub wasn't working and had to be repaired on first day. Manager acted like we were being difficult by asking for the repair. Toilet in first-floor bathroom is mounted on 2-inch ledge. We both stubbed our toes countless times. Showers are tiny and old, no pressure. We have rented LOTS of beach houses. I am only giving it a 2 because of the view. I would not recommend this one.
Owner's Response: I am sorry to hear that in October 2012 this unnamed guest was dissatisfied with my Cottage. I wish I had known earlier about these concerns. I encourage feedback, both positive and negative, and make every effort to correct problems guests report.
In October 2012 a new manager had just taken over. If he was accusing or abrupt, I apologize. If I had known your perception of his manner, I could have clarified with him the prompt, respectful customer service I expect, especially since he was new. In sharing this review with him, he quickly offered to make a personal call but the review contains neither name nor date by which to identify and make personal contact.
Most of the concerns, however, relate to the property itself. It is a vintage cottage, kept that way deliberately although with modern furniture for the comfort of our guests. We make every effort to fully equip the kitchen, to provide crisp white towels, to present a meticulously cleaned interior and to provide starter supplies of coffee, presto logs, paper products and even laundry soaps. It is true that the showers are small, and I wish I could easily enlarge them. You can appreciate, I hope, the difficulties in modernizing plumbing in a vintage home. Clearly this guest needed a more contemporary choice for vacation, and I hope that in the future they find a place to fit their precise needs.
