About Timothy Giarrosso

Laurie Nugent and Tim Giarrosso, have lived and raised 3 daughters in Rockport for the past 28 years. They ran a contemporary craft gallery, Half Moon Harry, for 18 of those years. They are now designing their own product for catalogs and corporate venues.The two have incorporated their artistic style to create this beautiful ocean-side retreat for their guests.

Perfect location but...

The best thing this property has going for it is definitely the location! The town of Rockport is beautiful and has all the New England charm you could wish for. The proximately of this home to the "downtown" area along with the beach right across the street make it ideal for evening strolls along the water, shopping in the many shops of Rockport, and dining at the numerous delicious restaurants nearby. The home is also very large and can comfortably accommodate a large family. All four bedrooms plus the sun room and third floor room are well appointed with comfortable beds and linens. One downside to this property is the lack of some basic amenities such as sufficient toilet paper and paper towels. Expect to bring your own! In addition, the cleanliness left a little to be desired. The biggest downside to this rental was the complete lack of privacy. The owner will visit during your stay. It seemed that every day during our stay he needed to stop by for one reason or another while we were out. There were multiple packages delivered by UPS over the week. We have rented numerous vacation rentals and have never had a problem with owners coming into the house while we were out for the day. This seemed a bit odd to us. Overall, the home is quintessentially charming. The waves can be heard crashing outside as you fall asleep and the town of Rockport makes for a great getaway.

Owner's Response: To say this review has not rocked our world is an understatement. We have a very high standard. I have spoken to the guest, our first weekly rental guest of the season, and addressed her complaints. The seasonal sun-room bedroom was opened for our guest 1 month prior to our normal opening dates. Our guest felt it was not up to cleaning standards. We have made sure any of the issues she felt were not addressed, have been addressed. As for Tim stopping by the house more then wanted, this was a fluke of unusual UPS deliveries to the house and our daughter's cat that been meowing outside and showing up at the house. He tried to catch her as to not disturb the guests. We have taken due note and WILL NOT disturb our guests at any costs during their stay. RIGHT TIM! best ever

Extended family of 12 ranging in age from 1 to 70 . We have been spoiled and every other vacation will be compared to Beach & King. Great having all our own bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and the eating area a perfect size for all of us. The parlor table was great for jigsaw puzzles. The front porch was good for coffee in the morning, cocktails at night and a great playpen for the 1 year old. Easy walk to beach, shops, restaurants and take out lobster dinners. Never got in a car until Friday to go see a lighthouse. Highly recommend!

Girls Weekend

Nine high school friends recently spent a weekend in Rockport at this lovely home. The owners could not have been nicer to us. The weather was perfect and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. The home is has beautiful views and is well stocked. We would recommend this at a vacation rent.

A dream come true!

My family and I just returned from a perfect vacation in Rockport! The Beach and King provided us with the absolute perfect location and a lovely place to call home for our week-long stay. We were celebrating a 40 year wedding anniversary so had 10 adults and 8 children in our party. We were all very comfortable and never felt short on space. We were close enough to the beach that we could actually watch some of the kids and adults play at the beach while others were back at the house enjoying the ocean breezes on the front porch. The village of Rockport provided us with great restaurants and great ice cream! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful home!!! We will be back!!

The house is just great. There were 13 of us and plenty of room for everyone. The furnishings are very comforatable and the kitchen had everything you could want, even a grill on the back porch.
The front porch and rocking chairs got the most use..as it was so relaxing to look out at the water.
The house is close to everything, shopping, restaurants and the beach. you really don't need to leave Rockport.
FYI- Easier to take the train into Boston than the car - the station is a block away.
We had lots of family from the Boston area come share the days with us and they were all very impressed and will tell anyone what a great vacation rental this was.
We ARE going back in 2013 and we let Tim & Laurie know the day after we got home!

Family Get Together

This charming house was perfect for a family get together. There were plenty of bedrooms, but as equally important plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen was wonderful. We like to cook and found the only drawbacks were it did not have a food processor and the knives were dull.
The house is close to the train terminal which provides great transportation to Boston at a reasonable price. In Rockport, we found charming shops and restaurants. The view was fabulous. It was so relaxing to sit in a rocking chair on the porch and enjoy the view of the bay.
The house was clean and full of towels! It only has fans so watch out for those humid days.
The owner was wonderful and reponsive. I would recommend it to friends and family.

I appreciate your comments on the dull knives and am jumping in my car right now to buy a new set. There is air conditioning in every bedroom, but they had not been installed mid June when you were visiting. I will take note and install earlier next year!
