It takes you to the amenities of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, as well as most tourist destinations on the Island. The closest town is Southwest Harbor, only a 5 minute drive from the house. It has fine restaurants, shops, grocery store, specialty wine and cheeses, take-out establishments, lobster eateries, boat tours, drug store and much more.

Family Fun!: Freshwater Sand beach at Echo Lake is within walking distance, or a short drive by car. It offers a freshwater beach perfect for swimming, wading and sandcastle building in the summer sun.

Also, a bit further away, about 10 minutes by car is Long Pond. A favorite swimming and boating spot for locals, it also offers a great place for families to take a dip or rent kayaks and enjoy the lake from a slightly different perspective.
