A Treasure of a Home in Lake George!

We fell in love with this charming home as soon as we walked in. The antique and eccletic decor made it unique yet homey and comfortable at the same time. It had all the amenities needed (including coffee filters!) to make it feel like a home away from home. And the view of the lake couldn't be beat. It was a wonderful place to stay ..we were very sad to leave!

A Little European Retreat in the Heart of Lake George

If you are looking for a unique lodging experience, this is the place for you. If you are looking to travel to France or Italy, but can't afford the trip, Casa d'Oro is the place for you. The old world charm of the villa provides a laid back and genteel environment that truly allows you to sit back and relax. Having said all that, all the amenities you expect in a quality vacation home are found here as well.
Lake George, just a few minutes away, is a charming and active community with more than enough to do in town or in the nearby Adirondack State Park. And, after a full day, it is very nice to retreat to the villa's mountainside location with the ambiance of nearby llamas and the view of Lake George to relax round the fire pit .
For a fabulous meal..and very well-priced for those who wish to dine early...try "George's".
If you are really into classic cars, come Labor Day week for the car show...fabulous fun!...It's like reliving your teens (for those of us of a certain age) when "cruising" Main Street was what we did on a Friday night.
You will appreciate the immaculate facilities and the friendly and knowledgeable owner and you can't beat the price for the area.

My girlfriend and I had a great time in Lake George. Staying at Casa D'oro was warm and cozy. There is much interesting history surrounding the house and much of the classic furniture as well. It's just minutes away from town but still far enough to feel private and secluded. Nancy was at the house to greet us when we got there and was very nice and accomodating. I would recommend staying here for anyone looking for a romantic getaway that is different from your ordinary hotel stay.

amazing vacation, amazing place

If you are looking for all the amenities and don't want to spend a fortune, come to Casa D'Oro. The space, the surroundings, and the owner are top notch, but won't break your budget. After searching all summer for a good place away from the city (we drove in from NYC), we almost couldn't believe our eyes when we miraculously found the villa, which, to be honest, sounded too good to be true.
I live in Vancouver, BC, but my family lives in the city (NYC), and I had been looking for a place to take my mom and grandma away from the heat and commotion of the city. At the villa, we were able to hike, relax in the sun (and shade!!), grill, sit by the outdoor fire, cook breakfasts and feast on home-made dinner, and enjoy the beautiful forest surrounding the house.
We found the house clean, spacious, and very well stocked with everything we needed (and didn't need!).
We would love to return, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little castle away from home.

Wonderful Home in Lake George

We had a great time at the villa. The home is beautifully decorated with many amenities that make your stay comfortable. The home is in a pretty location away from the busy village. However, you can be on the freeway quickly and into the village of Lake George quickly. We took several day trips so this was helpful. The owner takes great pride in her home. It is evident. She is also available for questions and concerns. She provides a thorough list of restaurants, bars, activities, and shopping. This was a helpful reference to use during our stay. I would recommend this home to friends or families traveling to or through The Adirondacks.

Nous avons passé une fin de semaine de rêve à la Casa d'oro! Tout d'abord, la communication a été super efficace avec Nancy, elle a répondu à toutes nos questions avant la location et ce fut des échanges charmants. Puis, dès notre arrivée à la Casa d'Oro, nous nous sommes sentis bienvenus, tout un accueil, avec même une bouteille de vin mousseux! La villa est super bien équipée, tout pour le confort, et pour les yeux aussi : d'innombrables pièces de collections sont à découvrir dans tous les coins! Nous avons également bien profité de l'extérieur, fait de bonnes bouffes sur le barbecue, passé de longues soirées au coin du feu. C'est l'endroit où vous voulez habiter quand vous êtes en vacances dans les adirondacks! En moins de 5 minutes, vous atteignez le "downtown", et tout près, million $ beach, les outlets ou great escape. Puis, une fois vos activités de la journée terminées, vous rentrez dans ce cadre enchanteur, sur la colline, en plein bois, et vous vous sentez seuls au monde... Ou presque, vous avez la compagnie des lamas de la ferme d'en face, qui discutent avec vous à l'occasion! C'est très plaisant! Nous avons loué des chalets à maintes reprises dans la région de Lake george, et la Casa d'Oro de Nancy remporte la palme d'or, et de loin! Merci pour tout Nancy, nous reviendrons très bientôt!

We have nothing but AMAZING things to say about our stay at Nancy's villa! The house is perfect and has everything you could ever need- You could probably just pack your clothes to bring beacuse she has thought of EVERYTHING!!! The house lends a nice amount of space and great set up to prepare and cook meals. We sat outside and had fires every night of our stay as we watched the sun go down behind the hills and the lake- beautiful! We loved the Llama's and sheep accross the street, they were fun to watch and didnt disturb us one bit!The location is perfect, it feels quiet and secluded up on the hill in the forrest, yet is just minutes down the road from all the shops, restaurants and beaches! Lake george has planty of paid parking so you dont have to worry about being able to find a spot. We went to Million dollar beach twice, it was really nice and had a great snack bar and changing rooms! We also used the pool down the road- cost $4 per person to use but well worth the money! We also hiked some of their nature trails which was a lot of fun too! If your looking for a place to stay in Lake George look no further- you want to stay at Nancy's villa for sure!!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nancy's Villa! We had 4 people staying a few nights, and the space was perfect. The house is located right along a somewhat busy road, right across the street from a llama/sheep/rooster farm (noisy if windows are kept open), but those are the only drawbacks. House was very clean and the decor was awesome. Has an in-the-mountains feel, but minutes from town. Be prepared for drivers to slow down to take a look at the villa, it's that interesting!! Nancy provides nearly everything you may need: wood for bonfires, citronella oil for the torches that are set up, bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, and even a bottle of champagne!! If we make it back to Lake George in the future, we would definitely look to stay here again. Thanks for such a pleasurable experience Nancy!!!

Beautiful home, very clean, awesome decor! Owner Nancy was very attentive - making sure we were comfortable. The photos don't do the home justice (and they are good) - more fun than we expected. You're in the wilderness but only minutes away from town. We loved the llamas and sheep across the road! We were in town for a wedding, one of the evenings we had some relatives come by to enjoy a fire in the outdoor firepit. What fun! Most of the relatives are New Yorkers, they fell in love with the home and will be renting this home in the future. Thank you!
