We really enjoyed staying in this house. It is very comfortable and a great alternative to hotels. The location is great, straight shot to Isle of Palms county beach, with is great. The kids were kept entertained with the Wii and internet. The neighborhood is quiet and very close to shopping.

I would definitely recommend this house when planning a visit to the area.

This house was truly lovely in a great location. It was clean, cozy and comfortable in a quiet neighborhood and very convenient to shopping, Isle of Palm and Charleston. We were visiting the area to attend a wedding, and it turns out that the house was close to the hotel where many of the guests were staying as well as the venue for the wedding. The owner was very accommodating to our needs, and prompt with returning the deposit.

We have rented vacation homes in many locations but this one was the nicest, cleanest and best equipped of any we have stayed in. The kitchen had everything we could wish for. The living room had a nice flat screen TV. The queen size bed in the master bed room was very, very comfortable. We will definetly be coming back to this house....

My family and I enjoyed our stay in this cute house in a wonderful location. Everything was close by and the beach was so easy to get to and fantastic. My grandson had to have a medical procedure at MUSC and this location was very convenient for getting into Charleston. Steve was so easy to work with and made this renting experience effortless. Thank you, Steve!

I loved this little house. It was exactly as Steve described it. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our dogs to romp and play in. The neighbors were really nice. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting a peaceful stay. The house is close to shopping and great places to eat.

The house and its location are perfect for a visit to Charleston! You are minutes from the historic district in Charleston as well as from the beach on Isle of Palms. The accomodations are clean and comfortable with everything you need to feel at home. The fenced-in yard is wonderful for pets. Mount Pleasant has several fine restaurants and good shopping close by. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return!

A Good Deal and a Fair Price

My Wife and i live in Goose Creek and rented this home on behalf of my 96 year old Father. He and his companion are currently down from Canada and have resided in the home since 29th Dec 2010. They both are very impressed with the place. When we moved them in it was extremely clean. I don't recall ny item that required the owners intervention. It is best described as a cozy cottage type home. it's got a great TV and the living room is just that....very relaxed and pleasant. The beds are comfortable so my Father and his caregiver say and the restrooms are neat and clean. The Kitchen has got everything that one would require including a dishwasher. If you want to rent a home that is pet friendly then this is it. The Carpets do not have any stains and were clean on arrival. Steve, the owner was very helpful with the details on payment, move in times , etc. We did give him our credit card number for payment and the deal was sealed quickly. I believe him to be an honest person who truly wants my Father to have a pleasant stay in Mt Pleasant. For those of you reading this, if going to the beach is your thing then you are not far away from the Isle of Palms. Also shopping with most of the major stores is within a two to three minute car ride. As afar as the price is concerned I don't think you can find a better deal this close to the beach.

Thanksgiving stay

1 of 5
Submitted: December 18, 2010 Stayed: November 2010
It was a shock to enter this house. The place was dirty: sunflower seeds strewn on the floor between the sofa and coffee table, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, fan in MB broken and lightbulb burned out, carpet so spotted I didn't even want the dog to walk on it. Before renting the home, I informed the owner I would be doing lots of pre-Thanksgiving cooking (our son and daughter in law live on James Island) and asked several times if the kitchen was equipped. He assured me it was. How wrong could he be? Very.
Thank goodness I brought some casserole dishes and mixing bowls with me. There were no cleaning supplies: no mop,no bucket, no sponges, no Mr. Clean, no nothing. We called the owner within hours of arriving and gave him a list of what the house needed.....including towels. There were just enough towels for 4 people (we were 4 staying in the house) and two of those threadbare. No dish towels no dish clothes, no rags. The next day the owner brought us everything on the list, but it was then up to me to clean the bathrooms and try to vacuum the carpet (the bagless vacuum had not been emptied all summer).

Further: the MBR bath's toilet is not properly secured to the floor and shifts around; the vanity in the hall bath is falling apart and that toilet has a tendency to back up. In walking our dog we discovered the neighbors on either side and across the street have recently not been very happy with renters of this house: wedding groups that partied into the wee hours of the morning. (no wonder they looked at us skeptically when we arrived).

On a positive note, I will say the beds were extremely comfortable and the owner did react quickly when confronted with the shortcomings of the home. We certainly will not return to this property.

By the way, even though it is advertised as sleeping six, there are only 4 chairs in the kitchen eating area (no dining area) and only one straightbacked chair that can be taken to the kitchen to increase seating. We had planned to entertain our family at the home on Wednesday before Thanksgiving - house too dirty and just not comfortable for 6 people to eat and enjoy themselves.
Owner's Response: Please read all reviews and not just this one. While this person was difficult I still responded to anything she told me about. She was complimentary in person, but then this? I will attempt to explain-on the kitchen being stocked- it is for normal use (and more now) she even complimeted me on the cookware provided. I did not know what additional cookware she would require so instead of guessing I asked her to call me when she got here with anything needed. She gave me quite a shopping list and I obliged without hesitation.(she called at 10pm-I had items to her by 11am). There were/are cleaning supplies in the garage. Had she asked I could have told her this. On the cleanliness comments. I've always gotten rave reviews on my cleaning lady, but I also know if we had been alerted to her being displeased, my cleaning lady would have gone by in a jiffy (she doesn't live far and neither do I). Communication goes a long way to curing things! She did mention the light in the fan, and it was burned out so I did replace the bulb. I didn't know about the fan itself and she hurried me out of the home before I could check it when doing the bulb ( but I did spot this upon her departure as a screw had fallen out of a blade and was on the floor under the bed, so I put it back in and tightened them all. Also, she didn't mention the toilet to me and upon reading the feedback and investigating, it was loose so I tightened it. (took me 30 seconds). The hall bath vanity is fine. 1 drawer was off its track. Additionally, I have had the home carpets professionally cleaned as there were 2 visible spots, but nothing that should have horrified anyone. Again, had I know she was concerned, I could have done this one morning and everything would have been good to walk on in a couple hours (time for the beach? or shopping). Visitors please know, I will do anything I can to help you have a pleasant stay. Please read all the other reviews. Thank you in advance. Steve

The Perfect Rental

The attention to details is what sets this rental home apart. It exudes comfort in every room. Whatever you may need is there. Lots of space and it's fresh and clean! We enjoyed gathering in the living room and slept soundly at night. It is not only so very close to upscale shopping and staple stores, but a hop away from the beautiful island beaches. It's a great affordable rental. This was our first trip to SC but we plan on coming back next year for a longer visit.
