Excellent unit, value and people!
Overall: We were on our honeymoon in southern California and wanted to spend a few days in Santa Barbara. We're glad we found this place! Excellent value, stay and amenities for a 3-night getaway. Customer service was superb. Highly recommended!
Location: Fantastic -- the front door is 2 blocks from State St, with its restaurants, bars and shopping. Beaches are easily within walking distance as well. Bikes are available (but we never used them; we walked everywhere.). Parking is on the property behind gates, and as it is shared with the other two rental units, there is only enough room for 1 car per unit.
Room: The unit we stayed in was the studio suite, which was perfect for a couple. (I wouldn't recommend more than 2 people.) It was spotless, private and quiet (remember, though, you are sharing walls with other renters, so it's not dead quiet), with enough closet and storage space to put our suitcases. The kitchen was more than adequate for our 3 night stay and came stocked with fresh coffee and cream! There is a shower (no bathtub) in the bathroom and plenty of towels and linens. The couch opens up to a double/queen bed, and the foam topper provided made it as comfortable as a traditional bed. Once the couch is opened, there's not a lot of space to walk around in, but that never bothered us and we left it opened our whole visit. There are lots of other amenities, like a washer/dryer with detergent, microwave, hot plate and mini fridge.
A bonus: the yard has beautiful plum and orange trees, which provided some delicious snacks for our sightseeing.
People: The people that I dealt with were part of what made this a great place to stay at. The owner, Inga, was prompt and courteous to my requests for information. She also provided excellent driving directions (follow them -- as Inga notes, there are lots of one way streets downtown) and instructions on how to operate appliances, wifi, etc. The communication with her during the reservation process was flawless. Laura, who took care of the day to day management, was also a pleasure to interact with, helping us with inquiries on what to do and what to see. Dealing with people like these made our trip so stress-free!
