A private and beautiful cottage.

I have an affinity for the relaxed atmosphere of the big island. I have never been disappointed visiting it, and this trip was no exception. Well, maybe it was an exception because this trip quickly became the top of my recent trips because my fiancé and I chose to get married on the island and to stay at the Tree Fern cottage instead of some busy resort.
The drive to the property is fun! Hwy 11 is a fun road to take on night or day. Once you get to the gate, you will drive up the private road to the property, and you might just see the local Turkeys there too.
The property is a mint condition. Dennis has paid careful attention to every detail. You can tell by just opening the kitchen drawers to note that every cutting utensil has been neatly placed in there. The grounds are beautifully well kept. The cottage has a beautiful lanai that looks brand new. While the big island provides some excellent views, this place amplifies it because of its surroundings. The forest that the property lays against is nice and lush, and in the early morning, you will hear the birds chirp, which I guess could be considered annoying by some, but we loved the early morning symphony. It was a much better wakeup call than a radio alarm.
Since the Tree Fern cottage is near the Kona coffee belt, you can wake up early, roll down your car windows and take a ride down the road (Oh, you will see neighbors walking in the early morning, be sure to wave at them). You will smell the coffee beans being roasted, and if you’re in the mood, you can always stop by one of the nearby plantations, and get a cup of fresh coffee too!
After a long day of trekking, hiking, snorkeling, horseback riding, ATVing, kayaking and simply absorbing the beautiful Hawaii sun and weather, we could not have imagined a better suited place to retreat to than the Tree Fern Cottage. We had a fun ten day Wedding/Honeymoon trip there, and we thank Dennis for providing us with a wonderful cottage to stay at.
Highly recommended!
