We are a family of six and the house fit our needs perfectly. The craftsmanship of the home was absolutely amazing down to the very last detail, this home exemplifies Santa Barbara style. The home was spotless and very well maintained. The location of the home is very convenient, you can walk or bike (bikes provided) to State Street (delicious food and nightlife) and West beach where you can watch volleyball and access the pier. We happened to visit Santa Barbara during the summer solstice festival which was an eye opening experience, it reminded me a little of Mardi Gras but was toned down to accommodate families. Summer solstice hosts a parade and my husband and I thought it was a great time to people watch. I would recommend visiting Santa Ynez wine country (30 min drive from home), Santa Barbara Mission (5 min drive surrounded by amazing architecture), Arroyo Burro beach (parking is very tricky) and Solvang. Solvang is a little Danish town which has amazing pastries and shopping, it will give you the feel of being in the Netherlands. Although everyone's tastes are different, the pastry my family liked the best was the large cinnamon twist but everything looks great! I almost left out another fun adventure we went on which was picking organic fruits and vegetables. On the way to Solvang we stopped along the roadside at two organic farms where we picked blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes, raspberries. Once you taste the freshly picked fruit it makes it very hard to eat store bought again. I would definitely recommend this home to my family and friends and hope to revisit it again in the near future. The owner and Kelly (host) were amazing and my deposit was returned promptly.
