Truly mixed feelings about our stay here:

CONS:
1. The house isn't nearly as nice as the photos make it look. Not even close.
2. Location: The proximity to downtown Nashville is grossly exaggerated. It took approx. 20 minutes to downtown (i.e. Broadway/Church/Demonbreun Streets) via the highway and longer via back roads (heavy traffic!). And it’s 16+ miles to the airport, not 8 miles as noted.
3. Broken window: Upon arrival, we found a window had been broken by a lawnmower, and glass had shattered everywhere in the basement including on one of the beds. We called the homeowner and he didn’t take any action to clean or repair, just asked us to cover the window in case it rained.
4. Flooding: It did rain, and it was heavy rain, but the basement FLOODED and we were unable to use the beds. People sleeping on the couch upstairs for all but 1 night of our 5 night stay!
5. Kitchen: The kitchen was equipped with place settings, cookware, etc. but scarcely… there were 6 of us and barely enough. We were constantly washing dishes and cookware. And in one place on the listing above, it says the house can sleep 10+!
6. Trash: The trash disposal bins were already full when we arrived and we had no where to put our trash… There were no instructions provided by the homeowner as to how to dispose of our trash (or any sort of trash pickup if they have it).

PROS:
1. The house was very clean upon arrival, with a large yard, and located in a nice quiet neighborhood. One neighbor even introduced himself to us and was very friendly. The house is easily accessible to the highway.

OVERALL:
I wouldn’t rent this house again. It was an ok experience, although I’m pretty sure the folks who had to sleep on the couch wouldn’t be as generous in their review!

We were in town a week for a Gospel Music of America, Inc. annual convention.
The facilities were more than adequate for our group. There was space to spread out. Each of the gentlemen had his laptop and other electronic gear, and they did not have to be all on top of each other as would have occurred in hotel rooms. Your kitchen is a gourmet chef's delight! I love to cook, and was very happy cooking in your kitchen. In my regular life I don't do breakfast, but I got up every day and cooked breakfast in your kitchen. (I bought a few kitchen gadgets to add to your well-apportioned collection.) We grilled out on you charcoal grill, and we utilized the washer/dryer.

Waking up to deer grazing at your back lawn line and jackrabbits hopping across the grass reminded me of man's connection to all of nature. I came back to my home refreshed in spite of the rigorous schedule I kept in the convention. I actually feel as if I've been on a vacation! Thank you so much.

We found the house to be very nice . It was 9 of us, various ages, from 14 to 72 with plenty of room for all of us. The teenage and young 20s slept in the basement bedrooms and the older ones, 30s to 70s stayed int he upstairs bedrooms. The house was pleasant and the central air made it very pleasant on hot afternoons. We were able to access many attractions quickly and easily from its central location, and the neighborhood was quiet in the evening when you needed to rest or slelep. All modern conveniences are available. I would recommend this home for a pleasant stay in and around the Nashville area. The home was clean and the listing was accurate.

I just returned from a weekend in Doug's place for a guys' weekend in Nashville. I can't say enough about how perfect the accommodations were for our weekend. The house was clean and spacious and the sleeping arrangements were more than ample for 12 guys (as promised). Doug was a gracious host and was sure to give us a call to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction upon our arrival. The property is expansive and peaceful with a nice creek running through the backyard and the neighborhood itself was very pleasant and calm. We were conveniently located in close proximity to downtown, Vanderbilt and Nashville West and had no issues getting around town, whether driving or by taxi and car service. The process to rent from Doug was also very simple, which is refreshing for a private home rental. Cost-effective, safe and well-appointed. Thanks Doug!

Doug was unable to fit us in this particular weekend however he quickly organised a nearby property in Brentwood which worked out great.

My party included 3 family members who had travelled over from Ireland, together with 2 from Virginia, the rest drove in from Arkansas. Had a wonderful Fri-Mon stay, found the property clean, modern and to a high specification of furnishing and fittings.

Ideal for families or all age groups really.

Great games room, including table tennis and pool table, which was a bonus,

Open log fire was comforting, good grounds allow for younger children to play and run around.

All in all a home away from home, in a great neighbourhood with any amount of restaurants and shopping closeby.

Highly recommend it for any larger families/groups thinking of visiting Nashville.

This home is located about 15 minutes from downtown and 10 minutes from the heart of Vanderbilt, which made is very easy to be a part of everything Nashville has to offer. Grocery stores are about 5 minutes away, which also was convienent. The home itself is very, very well-stocked with enough plates/silverware/pots and pans to accomodate our large party of 11. Lots of sleeping space with spacious and comfortable living room. Provided with lots of linens and towels which was helpful. Overall AMAZING choice for house rental for our family reunion!

I rented this house hoping it would be a great place to stay during my son's wedding in Nashville. It did not turn out to be what we expected. Upon entering the home it was very musty and old smelling. As we started to put groceries away we realized the inside of the kitchen cabinets were very dirty (needless to say the food stayed out on the counter tops). To our dismay when we woke up in the morning we found mice feces on the counter and on our plates, etc. YUCK!! We had to seal everything up throughout our stay in double ziplock bags.
When I took a shower that morning I realized the bathroom shower curtain had black mold all over the inside. We had to replace two shower curtains before anyone else would even go near the showers! Also, under our master bed there were old dirty towels tossed & left over from recent stays.
We took a walk in the back yard and found a jacuzzi on the patio with a broken lid, sinking into the tub. Needless to say, the yard needed alot of TLC. The outside of the home needs sprayed for spiders (their nests are everywhere).
Upon re-entering the home I decided to check out the sofa, & under the cushions we found more mice feces and all kinds of other nasty looking stuff! Just imagine sitting on that sofa knowing what is under the cushions!
This home really has a lot to be desired. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the home. Oh, and by the way, one evening we were greeted by a mouse in the living room!
If you choose to stay in this home, BEWARE of SPIDERS, MICE and BUGS, oh my!!!! Joking aside, we were so disappointed and do not want anyone else to be scammed into renting this home.

My family rented this house for a week, it is 5 or 6 miles from downtown nashville. Very comfortable spaces, large basement room for more space too. The neighborhood was very quiet, so sleeping was no problem.

All in all a great time, the owner was very easy to work with, He kept in contact without being intrusive.

House was clean and functional, with nice kitchen for home cooking, also had a washer and dryer that we put to use too.

For sght seeing there were many pamphlets and flyers to leaf thru. This turned out to be great for we found some nice things to do that we wouldnt have know about.
