This is a legal 2 family house.

I have a large yard which is fenced in and has groomed hedges and yard with driveway for your use.
NEW refrigerator- NEW kitchen floor- NEW toilet -NEW Vanity in Bathroom.
Freshly shined hardwood floors.
Place is quiet and peaceful and only 1 mile from ferry if you need to go to Manhattan, very convenient.

My son and I stayed at Lydia's home from 6/5/2013-6/15/2013. The photos on the website do not do this place justice! It is absolutely wonderful! We felt like we were at home. It was clean, cozy, spacious and modern! Initially, I was not sure about going this route for lodging but Lydia kept in contact with me via telephone, email and text! She was very accommodating with my constantly changing travel plans. Lydia gave us a tour of NYC and recommended places to visit. She also took us around Staten Island and showed us how to get to places we may need to go. Apparently I was taking a route to and from her home via a less desirable area and she showed me how to bypass that and it made a world of difference! We felt safe in her home not to mention all the gates and locks! Her home is located in a nice quiet area. My son fell in love with her dog Sophie who was very friendly and playful. We chose to drive to the ferry which was about 2 mins from her home. It cost $7 to park all day and the shuttle takes you up to the ferry or you can take a nice short walk along the water.The parking area was easy to navigate and monitored. (Lydia drove me there one day and showed me where to park). You could walk to the ferry but have fun marching up the hills after being in the city all day! (good workout though). Parking at her home was great because there was a driveway in which there was a locked gate. Lydia was absolutely wonderful! She was like family. Lydia made sure we had everything we needed and she checked on us to ensure we got to and from our destination when we ventured out. I really appreciated that because we did not have family in the local area and she gave us a sense of security. We will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it! My son and I left satisfied. Stayed in a wonderful place and met some wonderful folks-Lydia and Sophie :)

Stayed at Lydia's lovely home 5/23 - 5/26/13. We were there for my son's graduation from Wagner College. Her home is located close to Wagner and just about one mile from the Staten Island Ferry. Lydia was very accommodating, very helpful in answering any questions we had and also gave great recommendations for places to eat. Her house was lovely and very comfortable. I will stay again, highly recommend.

Wonderful retreat from the city
We loved our stay here. It's very close to the free ferry, which takes you right into Manhattan. The apartment is huge and very comfortable. The yard is lovely and well kept with hammock, grill and patio for our pleasure. Inside, there is a flat screen tv with cable and wifi internet access. The kitchen is well equiped: microwave, stove, coffee maker, brand new fridge. The bathroom is clean and new. Water pressure is good and the hot water is readily abundant. Bedrooms are large with comfortable beds and clean linens. The owner is friendly and very helpful with information to local stores and restaurants. Don't miss staying here.

Beautiful Home
I recently stayed with my teenage son at this beautiful home in Staten Island. It was huge and perfect accomodations for the 2 of us. The owner was very friendly and incredibly accomodating. We arrived early and stayed late and she was fantastic. She stayed in contact with me and we communicated regularly. The area is a great residential area with lots of beautiful homes, many of which were decorated with Christmas lights, it was very pretty. The home was very private and my vehicle was in a gated driveway. I felt very safe and secure in the home and area. We were just a mile from the Staten Island Ferry which took us into Manhattan each day. I highly recommend this home to anyone travelling and looking for warmth and comfort! I will definetly be back, hopefully for a longer vacation, next time!

GREAT GETAWAY WITH GREAT OWNER
After viewing dozens of rental scams on Craigslist this discovery was like a breath of fresh air. The wonderful owner, Lydia, kept in touch before we left and was waiting for us together with her beautiful dog Sophie when we arrived. After a long flight from the UK Lydia even provided us with some cold beers and staples for morning breakfast-coffee,muffins,butter etc., all at no charge.
Lydia even took us to the local shop for some shopping and then drove us to the ferry. On the last day she drove us back to JFK in heavy traffic at well under the going cab rate-such a helpful lady.
The apartment was huge and in great condition, with ample room for just us 2 with a fully equipped kitchen, good bathroom and even a veranda to relax on. There was ample linen and fluffy towels to enjoy.
We didn't get the chance to enjoy the garden as we were too busy, but Lydia has a gas barbeque if needed.
We spent a long time looking for somewhere suitable and this location suited us fine, within a 1/2 hour walk of the ferry that runs 24/7 and close to a bus stop should you not want to walk to the ferry. It was very quiet and a very good area.
We cannot praise this lady and her apartment enough.

Welcome to Fort Lydia
While visiting New York City, take in the many forts that the city has to offer. While staying in the the city, stay at FORT LYDIA, the apartment is very comfortable and clean. Nice kitchen to cook our meals and save money. The owner was very helpful with our needs. We had off street packing behid a locked fence for added security. Sophie the house guard dog, was the sweetest thing, she would come upstair to visit us and the kids loved her. The hammock in the wonderful yard was great for an afternoon nap. Minutes from the ferry to Manhattan. The pictures don't do justice to the apartment.

HI came in to staten island w my husband to visit Manhattan and some old friends in town
Place is spacious and clean and quiet Just love the yard and person in charge of property was very helpful and friendly
Price was reasonable as well
The month went very fast and I look forward to my next trip back
