Loved Casa Banditos and Puerto Morelos
Colin and Laurie,
Once again, thank you, for allowing us to use your home. It was amazing. When we checked in, everything went like clockwork. Amber from Mayan Riviera Properties met us at the office and led our driver to the condo. She gave us a tour of the property and all of it's amenities (The unit, pool, hot tub, beach equipment).
That queen bed in the master bedroom is so comfortable. I'm going to miss waking up in the morning to the sound of the pipers (birds) and opening the drapes to watch the sunrise from bed. Then have coffee and sunbathe on the deck for half an hour or so before getting up the energy to make some breakfast. Tough to take.
The girls loved having a room and bathroom of their own. They were also able to use their laptops and get the wi-fi connection from their bedroom.
The kitchen is great. And the open, "greatroom" design of the kitchen, dining and living area makes it so spacious. We made breakfast in the condo every day and could have easily done every meal there but we couldn't resist the restaurants in town.
I think I already told you what a bonus it was having the washer and dryer in the condo. If we rent again next year, we wont need to use maid service at all.
You were right about the A/C, the ocean breeze did a great job keeping the place cool and on the two or three nights that it wasn't breezy, the three ceiling fans did the trick. Another bonus is that all the windows have excellent bug screens on them, so we could keep as many windows open as we needed.
David does a great job of keep the building and grounds in great shape. The pool and courtyard area was beautiful. You should update the pics on the website to highlight how beautiful the plants and flowers are now that they have matured. It was difficult sometimes to decide weather to relax at the beach or relax by the pool.
We all loved Puerto Morelos. It was exactly what we wanted for our family to have a great, safe vacation, but also allow us to have a cultural experience. We were able to participate in several cultural and community events in the town square during our stay. Our favorite spot here on Vancouver Island is a west coast town called Tofino. Puerto Morelos felt to us, like the "Mexican Tofino".
We'll definitely be back, hopefully next year. The girls and I have already started saving our Pesos
