A home away from home
We found the house just as listed. It was perfect for our needs, clean, well appointed and maintained. The fenced in yard did indeed make the HOUSE a pet friendly place to stay.
While the Daytona Beach/Oermond Beach area may meet the needs of others we were not overly pleased with the area. The area restaurants left a lot to be desired. The area beaches were far from pet friendly as no animals were permitted. A 15 to 20 min. drive was required to find a beach where one could walk your dog.
Back to the Gulf coast for our next visit to Florida.
Owner's Response: It is always a pleasure for me to know that my guests are happy with my vacation house and that they find it,' just as listed '. I have always welcomed pets and a fenced in backyard is a must in my book.
Ormond-by-the sea is a very small beach town with a handful of restaurants, bars and shops. The restaurants are small, friendly and serve simple but good food. Fish is huge in our area, lobster, crab, shrimp, tilapia, and flounder, to name just a few are readily available and tend to be served with a couple of sides, no fancy fixings. I would not recommend our area for fine dining, this is something you would find in Orlando, which is a one hour drive away.
Our closest beach situated 300 yards from my house, does not allow pets or vehicles on the beach. However we do have the Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park which is 1/2 a mile from the house, although you must keep your dog on a leash at all times. If you want to walk your dog on the beach, just into Flagler county, which is 7 miles and a 10 minute drive from the house, you can walk your dog on the beach for several miles.
Our area has such a lot to offer, including quiet beaches, small restaurants and all the charm of a sleepy beach town. It is the perfect location if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere.
