We were staying here for a week, and were in town for our best friend's wedding. The groom rented this house for himself, the groomsmen and their spouses, one of which had a new baby. The home is nice, a little out-dated, but still comfortable. The 180 degree view on the back deck is really the most amazing part of the home, and a great spot to watch the sun set. My problem with this rental is this: on our second day there, two "workers" came to replace a few pieces of wood on the back deck (which turned out to be ONE SMALL piece). They walked into the home without knocking. They then asked us if they could walk around the property to inspect it. We were frustrated with this, as it was a vacation for most of us, and being intruded upon like that is not very professional or relaxing (we later learned that one of the workers was the property manager's husband.) Fast forward to the day of the wedding. The groomsmen were gone majority of the day preparing for the wedding in the evening. While the spouses of the groomsmen were getting ready for the wedding (I was one of them), I saw a car pull up in the driveway. I then watched a lady I didn't know get out of the car and walk right in to the house without hesitating, and our cars were in the driveway! I immediately went downstairs and asked her what was going on. She said she was the "property manager" and, "thought that we would all be at the wedding". She said, "I was just coming to take the trash out in your rooms, but don't worry, I won't mess with your stuff." Comforting, right? I left to go to the wedding, with this stranger in the home we had payed for for the week. When I got home, she had left me, as well as the groom, notes. On mine was a reminder of when the trash went out, etc. At the bottom of my note, it said "any food you think my girls might like you can leave in the fridge". I don't know what girls she is talking about, and the food that we bought for the week is ours, and we couldn't believe she would have left us a note asking such a thing. We still had 2 days left of our stay. Everyone that stayed in the house was astonished that we were treated the way we were, being walked in on twice without any notice or courtesy of a knock. Vacation homes are supposed to be a place where you have a home away from home sort of thing. You shouldn't have to worry about unexpected strangers coming and walking in on your vacation time! This was highly disappointing.
