This is an awesome unit. It's high enough up that it's private with a great view, but low enough that you still get that fun vibe from below. People hanging out at the pool, having Mai Tais, partying at Dukes, grilling out at the BBQs, kids playing at the pools or on the lawns below. Plus you're right above the Koi Pond. My kids would go out on the lanai each morning and eat breakfast and look down at the fish. The other thing we noticed was there were no bugs. You could sit outside on the lanai, eat a steak and there were no wasps, no mosquitoes, nothing. Although, there were a lot of very tame little birds. I think they're called house wrens, and now I know why. They were not afraid to come right into the kitchen to get some crumbs. My kids loved this. I think my son's first word was "bir-dee". The resort was also great. Lots of different pools. The biggest pool was quite long, probably about 30 meters, so it was great for doing some laps in the morning before it got busy. Then there were others that were really shallow, where you could put the lounge chairs right in the pool and lie in the water. These areas were also perfect for babies and toddlers. Loved all the gear that was in this unit. They had so many different sets of snorkeling gear, that you were bound to find something that fit. They even had the anti fog stuff for the masks, which was awesome. The snorkeling right outside the resort was really quite good. Especially if you walked south a little towards Black Rock. We figure we snorkeled for at least a mile one day. We followed a puffer fish out and just kept going. Then followed a turtle on the way back. We packed up the minivan and headed up to Napili beach a couple of times too. Lots of turtles there, and it was only a few minutes away by car. Those beach chairs were really handy at the beach. Another thing I liked was that the door to the room has a key pad. You're given a door code for your stay and then you never have to worry about carrying around key cards. We were four adults and two small kids, so this made life way easier. There was a great little pizza and gelato place just in the strip mall across the street from the resort. Didn't try it out until the end of our stay, because it looked sort of like a fast food place, but it turned out to be great. Highly recommend the strawberry guava gelato. We just loved Maui and loved this condo so much. Thanks for everything. Mahalo.
