My husband and I Just returned home after spending 7 glorious and relaxing days at the Kirk’s beautiful Kamilo home. First, a big thank you to the Kirk’s for sharing your lovely tropical paradise with us. I always try to leave a vacation rental home in better shape than when I arrived but there was absolutely nothing I could or would improve upon. This home is in in perfect condition, extremely clean and comfortable....even better than the photos. There wasn’t a thing we needed that wasn’t made available to us. The property manager and Kirk’s were a delight to work with. We are looking forward to booking our next family vacation at this property and will certainly recommend it to our family and friends. Our family has never vacationed together and I was worried. But once we arrived to the Big Island and to this beautiful home, everything clicked! The house is very spacious and upgraded throughout. The neighborhood is safe and it's super easy to walk to a lot of activities.

If there is any con, it would be if you like to cook (which we did over half our meals in a week) is that the knife set is not sharp. I brought my own knives in my suitcase so it didn't effect us at all. There was some confusion about the usage of facilities. I thought since we were staying there we might have access to the Fairmont orchid pool and beach as the concierge said but the hotel said no. The pool in the neighborhood is great but not heated and is colder than the ocean. The hot tub works great and the gym facilities made my brother in law and his wife super happy!

I would totally stay here again and I would definitely recommend this house! You won't be disappointed!!!!

We absolutely loved the owner's beautiful home in KaMilo, and thank them for sharing it with our family! The home provided abundant space and comfort for our 8 family members. The awesome, well-furnished kitchen was more than adequate to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner, with the dining area providing seating for all 12 guests. What a wonderful place to spend the holiday! The setting is beautiful and quiet... the beds were comfortable & cozy.. the baths spacious... and we enjoyed the amazing pools and exercise facility. Really nice to be within walking distance to one of the best beaches! We appreciated the on-site concierge who quickly addressed any inquires. The owners were THE BEST to work with through the entire process. We will definately recommend this lovely home to others and plan on returning in the future.

I was invited to join friends that were celebrating a graduation. The wife of my friend rented this spectacular place and invited their closest friends to join them, of which I was lucky enough to be one.
First off, I should say that a good portion of the 5 that made it LOVE to cook and the kitchen and Beautiful Stainless BBQ did not disappoint. Almost perfectly equipped, the kitchen left us very satisfied that we could prepare any dish we wanted to. The only thing I kept looking for was a garlic press but even that could be substituted with the flat of a knife on one of the 2 cutting boards present.
The location was central enough if you have a rental car and want to experience all parts of the island. Out your door and turn left and you are in Hawi and the Zip Lines, turn right and you are beckoned by 40 miles of constant right turns that take you done to the beach, the marinas, kayaking, Helicopter tours, breathtaking views or just a Kona shopping spree. Several competent diving guides are available. Big Island divers had a good program and were very entertaining, while the best Ma halo spirit was found at the Scuba Shack just North of Kona.... (ask for Mark)
If you go East from this location on the highway (Turn left at the cool Blue Helicopters) you will find your way to Mauna Kea's summit and Helo on the east shore. Kind of a central starting place fro any where you want to be on the Island.
The pool and hot tub area was a very short walk and quiet at night, the skys were SOOOOO clear that you could clearly see the milky way as you were leaning back in the hot bubbles of the jacuzzi.
If you are into dancing, night life, crazy partying, and getting stupid drunk then this may not be for you but if you want to slow down, smile a little, and get into the aloha spirit, then this place is like Meca.

What an amazing trip we had! This home was a highlight for us...it far surpassed our expectations! The pictures do not do justice to how beautiful this home is. The Kirk's certainly did think of everything as we appreciated the kitchen extras for cooking and grilling and even used the cooler on our beach outings. We had the PERFECT location given the age ranges in our group (11-50) being within walking distance of such amazing beaches and plenty of space in the house for all 8 of us to be comfortable! We were even able to view the fireworks from the lanai on the 4th. We would love to come back one day and can't think of a better location than this home in Kamilo!

We just wrapped up a 10 day stay at this amazing house and everything was perfect. The one thing everyone kept noticing was that it felt more like a home than a vacation rental. The housewares and furnishings were a focus, not just an afterthought. The kitchen is large and inviting as is the back lanai. We spent a good deal of time just cooking, grilling and relaxing. The beach club is a great place to escape for the day and the hot tubs give you great views of the stars at night. The best thing that we noticed was that this area of the island was always sunny. Everyday we went to Kona it was hazy and the East side of the island was raining, but KaMilo was sunny and warm with evening wind. The cherry on top was the concierge who assisted with reservations, recommendations and just generally helpful stuff. A perfect trip all around, we hope to go back.
A few hints: Stock up at Costco before heading to the house. The take out sushi at the local Foodland is pretty good and the sushi at Norio's is amazing. There is a great hose behind the house with a tile lanai that is perfect for rinsing and drying scuba gear. If you like snorkeling, you can head to the private beach club and swim out past the rocks and south towards the golf course to find nice coral and abundant sea life.

I'd highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the Big Island in style. First of all, it's very spacious: we had a group of 8 adults - and there was more than enough space for everyone. It's got a fantastic kitchen with top-notch appliances, and there's a great BBQ out on the back patio (with a side grill, which was installed while we were there), so cooking and eating awesome dinners at home is a good time (an aspect I especially liked). It has two pools, a gym, a private beach with a restaurant that has a reasonably priced menu. It's immaculately taken care of. Great location: near some awesome beaches, Kona and the airport. What more could you really ask for? Nothing.

My family and I had a WONDERFUL time - the weather was great the entire time and this house was amazing! It had absolutely everything we could have needed for the entire stay. Pool toys, picnic items, ice chests, cooking/cleaning supplies, everything in the bed and bathrooms was over and above what we expected. We had a few great days at the Mauna Lani beach club snorkeling and also spent an afternoon enjoying the barbecue and pool area. The kids absolutely loved being able to play in the smaller one with all of the toys. We also went to the Kona Village luau on Friday night - it was excellent!

Thank you for providing such a wonderful home for my family during our stay. It was definitely a memorable and relaxing vacation that we hope to repeat in the near future!
