ALTAMIRA was our primary vacation rental for 5 years - until we rented it to one tenant for a year. We took possession back and gave it a complete face lift. It has new carpet, paint, dishwasher, microwave, sofa, area rugs, beds, linens, etc. It is ready for YOU!

ALTAMIRA is a quarter of an acre on a 2 block stretch of one of the only streets in central Palm Springs WITHOUT power lines to block your views. The 32 foot long pool and over-sized 8 person in ground Jacuzzi are just a few of the things to enjoy in complete privacy behind the block wall and 10 foot tall ficus hedge.

The living room and dining room have floor to ceiling Southern exposure windows - with a large overhang for outdoor living. The large gourmet kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need to either cook meals or serve what you order in from one of the many delicious local restaurants.

The living room at ALTAMIRA has a 47' TV with DVD player, master bedroom has a 27' TV with DVD and vhs, and guest room has a 19' TV with DVD player. The entire home is wired with a sound system with different zones - including speakers in the yard for your lazy days in the pool or your cocktail hour on the patio.

ALTAMIRA is walking distance to downtown - it's one mile from the center of downtown and less than a half of a mile from the Casino and convention center. ALTAMIRA is also 2 blocks from Ruth Hardy Park - offering grassy fields, children's playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, and outdoor bbq areas.

Grab your bathing suit, golf clubs, tennis racket and/or your favorite book - and come relax in luxury at ALTAMIRA...

*** we also own vrbo #212096 'AMIGO' - we rent them both together at discounted rates if you need more room. They are one block away from each other (a very short walking distance...)

I am a freelance architecture and interiors photographer from Seattle. I came to Palm Springs 13 years ago and fell in love with it. I have been running 212096 for a few years now. I recently put ALTAMIRA back together after a year long tenant left. The energy at ALTAMIRA is incomparable, and the indoor outdoor flow make for a guaranteed relaxing and soothing stay. I live in Los Angeles and I come out to Altamira as much as I possibly can... provided you don't have it reserved!

I renovated and operated a vacation rental 2 blocks from ALTAMIRA and walked and rollerbladed by ALTAMIRA all the time... until one day I pulled tax records and sent the owner a request to sell it. He did, and we never looked back. I have lived in and renovated over 6 homes in this area, but have never let go of this very special home. Everyone who ever stays here wishes they never had to leave!

What makes this house unique

We have unobstructed views of the western San Jacinto Mountains - including the top of the tram that is lit up every night. The LARGE grassy yard with pool and spa are completely private and allow for nude sunbathing if you wish. The wireless internet works anywhere on the property - so you can take your laptop and cocktail out to the teak table and watch the sunset as you send emails to your friends. The same friends that wish they were sitting where you are!

I love love LOVE Altamira. Living in San Francisco, sometimes I need to get away from noise and fog of the city. A quick get-away to Palm Springs, at this property, allows me to just that... and with all the amenities of home. This place is amazing... especially the pool, patio, and spa. I can understand why someone decided to rent it for a full year (trust me the thought has crossed MY mind more than once). Thanks James for making the accomodations effortless and making sure the stay was perfect.

We love Palm Springs and now we love Altamira. From the moment you walk in through the door you feel like you're home with everything ready to make your stay just perfect. Great location, great (south facing) garden (even the lemons were perfect for the cocktails!), superb pool - peaceful, relaxing and wouldn't hesitate recommending it for anyone who wants quality time away from it all. Thank you James, it made all our friends envious!

peaceful and relaxing

We spent the 4th of July holiday here at Altamira. It was great, house, pool everything. wonderful yard for my dogs. The location is so quiet and relaxing...a dream come true. My goal was to get my dogs away to place were they would not be bothered by fireworks...this was the place. We could see the official fireworks from the driveway and that was nice. James was great to deal with always there to answer any questions. Great home, Thank You James for sharing it with us and being dog friendly. I hope to be able to enjoy this home before the summer is over, If not i will be abck next year.

Heaven on earth!

Its all in my title.. I am staying here right now. Arrived on Saturday and was able to completely let go of the stresses of the daily grind. James has been wonderful in assisting us from the time of arrival, we walked downtown yesterday morning then layed around the huge pool the rest of the day.. it truly is perfect. Well worth it you won't be disappointed..

I stayed in this beautiful property many times over the years - and was so sad it wasn't available for my trip last year. I was SO excited to see that it was back on the roster and IMMEDIATELY booked it for my week in March next year.

The photos have me wondering how they could have possibly made the home MORE beautiful than it already was, but somehow they DID!

I can't wait to come back, and I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable time in Palm Springs.
