Some additional points to add to Dad's review of Villa Sea Watch and of Sint Maarten
Some additional points to add to Dad's review of Villa Sea Watch and of Sint Maarten
From Kim: The house is perfect for a family get-away, and nothing is more important than reconnecting with family. We enjoyed the wild life around the villa – we have a pet iguana we named Iggy that cracked us up and scared us at the same time. Mom got so attached that she would save vegetable scraps for Iggy. I think she may have peeled a couple of extra carrots for him. In fact Mom is the one who named him. This is pretty impressive since she does not like reptiles. The view is spectacular and you feel like you are the only ones in the world seeing it. It was amazing seeing the Southern Cross from our patio by the pool and the ocean– when has that ever happened to you?
The only thing I do not like about the house is that we do not own it.
From Geoff: All of the highlights were mentioned in your 2011 review: the view, the pool, the deck, grilling fish, etc. The only things I can think of now are areas of improvement and things I don’t like. It would be nice if they would put a single king sheet over the two twin beds in the Sunrise Room to prevent nocturnal separation and to create one large sleep surface (the beds separated and he fell down the crack between them.)
It was close to a good pizza joint (Mamma’s at Oyster Pond)-the spaghetti bolognaise was really good. So was the pizza, the view and the service.
St. Martin/St. Maarten— the goods and the not so goods…
The Goods: Presidente; Zee Best; Fish Sandwich w/fries at Chez Leandre’s; driving on some parts of the island (climbing around Simpson Bay, driving along the coast headed toward Marigot)-other parts are a little challenging.
Warm water; Wave runners (don’t like not owning one); 91.9 FM – broadcasting with 1000 watts from atop St. Peter’s Hill; Maho/Sunset Bar and Grill; Philipsburg; Marigot; Simpson Bay; Cost-U-Less; Grand Marche’ in Phillipsburg; Snorkeling at Mullet; the view from rocks at the end of the point at Mulley Bay; Walking on beaches; Need a 29’ to 32’ boat to travel to different bays, Happy Bay for example; Orient Bay—too many good things to list; Pinell island was OK. Need to have the above mentioned 29’ to 32’ boat to go for lunch and not have to rely on the ferry; Just being on the island.
The Not-so-goods: I don’t like that I don’t own it. I don’t like that I don’t live there. . I didn’t like getting yelled at by the airport police when I flew my kite on the beach near Karakter adjacent to the airport.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry about the single beds! We have several king sheets, which you are welcome to use. Had our housekeeper known, she would have put the king on the beds. We have on room with two singles because many guests request them for various reasons.
I can't do anything about the mean police, but you could always buy Sea Watch!
Thank you f or the positive review. I am so happy that you enjoyed. Please know that we would love to have you stay again, and remember, we always offer discounts to previous guests.
Take care
