About The Owner

We are a professional couple with two children, ages 5 and 3. We are very involved in the art's community in San Francisco, and enjoy art events, museums, shows, local farmers markets, and we really love all the great food San Francisco has to offer!

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2007
Why The Owner chose Mission Bay

We built this addition to our house for our parents (who live abroad) to stay at during their visits. When they are not here, we welcome other travelers to San Francisco.

GREAT for kids!

We have two kids (3 and 18 mos) and this place was so perfect! They had toys, a high chair, pack-n-play (with sheets), and some other stuff available we didn't end up needing. It was great to have a stocked fridge of condiments, etc. The only thing that made me nervous was the stairs--would be a huge bonus if there were baby gates available. But then again my kids just aren't used to stairs--we have a one-story home. The location was so great--we walked all up and down Valencia St. and there were great meal options everywhere, and the neighborhood felt very safe. Best breakfast place was Boogaloo's, about 3 blocks away. There's also a great park about 5 blocks away. Parking was plentiful right in front of the unit, though beware we did get a parking ticket on Sunday--it doesn't say so on the meters but you can no longer park free on Sundays. The owner was responsive and helpful to anything we might have needed. I would definitely stay here again!!

Three friends and I went to San Francisco for business and stayed in this apartment for 5 nights.
We found the location to be perfect, very close to the BART station (24th and Mission) and only 10 min more to Downtown. Near the house plenty of great restaurants.
The owners were extremely helpful and resourceful and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Wonderful rental close to everything

The apartment was easy to find and close to the city. (About 20 min drive with traffic) The apartment was clean and very well maintained. They had a list of nearby restaurants and things to do on the counter which was helpful. Plenty of space for the 6 of us that stayed there. We could hear the landlords upstairs, as was mentioned in other reviews, but it wasn't a big deal at all and when we closed our bedroom doors was barely noticeable. Only complaint I'd have is that the pillows were rather old and not comfortable. Other than that it was WONDERFUL! Landlords are VERY helpful and nice ready to make the stay as good as it can be. I'd stay there again if we ever are so lucky to be in the area.

Wonderful stay in San Francisco

Our family (two adults and two kids) had a fantastic stay at this location. It was very clean and well maintained and had way more than the required amenities. The owners were fabulous and answered all of our questions very quickly. The neighbourhood was really interesting and gave us access to get groceries, restaurants and cute shops. Also really close to BART and MUNI stations which let us get around the city very easily. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

We weren't sure what to expect when we booked this. We were pleasantly surprised by the space, and the location. We had our own key pad to get into the house, and were not bothered by the home owner at all. There are cool shops and restaurants all the way down Valencia which you could spend an entire day stopping in each store. Some people had said the area was a little shady, I'm from St. Louis and thought it was fantastic, I was never uncomfortable at all. I did walk down to Mission once or twice and wasn't impressed, so I would stay on Valencia and check out the bars and restaurants on 16th. It's a hipster/Artist area so if that's not your scene you might want to stay somewhere else. Also, AWESOME location for getting on the subway system (BART). We loved it and would stay there again!

Contemporary apartment in great location, fantastic for young families

This is a really lovely 2-level apartment in a former fire station conversion. The apartment has a lot of contemporary finishes and pleasant design features and it was very clean. Its located in the back of the building and even though the bedrooms look down onto a back alleyway, its nice and quiet. It is very well equipped especially for families with young children. Our 14 month old daughter loved the children's books and toys that were there and we made good use of the high chair. There is also a portable cot available.

Getting here from SFO airport is too easy. You just take the train to the nearby BART station and walk. Being so close to the BART station was great for us as it made sightseeing a breeze. The location itself is great, right in the Mission District. There is a handy corner store 1.5 blocks away (although you'll have to go further afield if you want to find a proper supermarket) and plenty of great places to eat/drink within easy walking distance.

Svetlana was great to deal with. She was a good communicator, helpfully answered all of our enquiries, gave us a few handy tips for getting around, and promptly refunded our security deposit after our stay. This was my first experience using VRBO and she made the whole process reassuring and hassle-free.

My family would happily stay here again if we return to San Francisco.

Great place to stay in the Mission, close to the BART and all the great shops and restaurants. The apartment is very comfortable and quiet; it is at the back of the building, so you hear very little traffic noise. (You can hear the family upstairs, but that was not a problem for us, as we had our own kids with us.) The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, utensils, cookware, etc. Plenty of towels and sheets. Gorgeous bathroom--nicer than many hotels. This is an place to stay with kids, as long as they can negotiate stairs. There were even two boxes of toys and a bunch of childrens' books!

This condo/apartment is perfect for families traveling with small children. This is the first time since our son was born (he's almost 2) that my husband and I actually had a relaxing time on a vacation.

It is just so much easier to travel with a little one when you've got more space to spread out. The second bedroom, with twin beds, would be great for older kids, but was also ideal for our son. He took a 90 minute plus nap every day and slept soundly at night.

After we put him to bed, my husband and I were able to go downstairs, watch the Olympics and enjoy a glass of wine without worrying about waking him up.

In addition, Svetlana and Daniel were excellent hosts. Communication was excellent from the very beginning. When my flight arrived 2-plus hours late (severely cutting into my son's nap time), Svetlana made sure that a Pak N Play was set up in the second room so we could put him straight down when we got to the condo. They also kindly made sure there was a half gallon of milk waiting for us in the fridge.

The condo has a high chair and a booster seat, some children's books and a small box of toys that entertained our little one. And there is plenty of space- more than the pictures would indicate.

I was a bit wary of the neighborhood when I first arrived, but everyone we encountered was pleasant and friendly. And the mix of cuisines in nearby restaurants (Thai, Ethiopian, Mexican, Indian, Italian...etc, etc.) was amazing. Great food and very vibrant.

The BART station was a short walk away, and we used it everyday. Highly recommend.

Fine spot in charming Mission district. The whole family (kids aged 15,11,4) loved the apartment and the neighborhood. Lots of different and fun shops, fine restaurants, cafés and bars, not to mention Dolores Park and also the playground on Valencia between 20th and 19th. Only a short BART-ride from downtown and the Wharf - or Bus 14 or 49, but they take a little longer. We never got the TV set going, there was no signal, but it didn't really matter. (We never consulted the owners, Daniel and Svetlana, they probably would have fixed it.) We will be back!
