Easter in Paris 2013

My friend and I stayed here with our two 18 year old daughters this Easter. We had a fabulous time and the apartment was great. I would stay here again. Dealing with Dominique and her greeter, Sarah, was very easy.
The only 'small' thing that is a little misleading is the 'courtyard' out the window. Yes, there is a tree in a very large area that also houses the trash cans. ( It does not have a 'garden' as an American might expect, but it does bring light into the apartment.)
Because it's is on the first floor, the small European stairway might not be ideal for older people.
The apartment is CLEAN, and comfortable and we found very safe. The velib bikes are right outside the apartment as well as all the great bakeries and restaurants mentioned. We walked everywhere and were very pleased.
Americans traveling to Europe the first time? Do NOT expect a large place and fancy towels. This place is large for Europeans and the towels are ok....however, the water pressure is fabulous!!!! Very important for moms and daughters!

Property was just as described and pictured and is in an excellent location, a few minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower. Property owner and manager were both very communicative and helpful. There were 4 of us so we used both bedrooms and the very sturdy fold out sofabed in the living room. Layout of apartment means bedrooms have two doors each - master opens into bathroom and 2nd bedroom. It was lovely to stay in an apartment with marble entryway, winding stairs up one floor, view of courtyard and being at the back of the building it was very quiet. The grocery store right outside the main door and baker a few doors down were really handy and there were some nice restaurants a few minutes walk away. We felt very much at home. And the streets felt safe even late at night. It cost about 25 Euros to get to apartment from train station, going back had to pay 5 euros in advance to book a taxi in rush hour. With less luggage we would have used the bus. We had booked L'open tour hop on hop off bus and were able to pick that up next to the Eiffel Tower although that did not run as frequently as we'd thought and the commentary was sparce. I would recommend purchasing a museum pass in advance - we were able to bypass long queues at the Louvre and other places and because we had a pass we stopped at other museums we may not have gone into if we had to pay separately. Property owner was very prompt in returning security deposit. We would definitely recommend this property, it was so much nicer than staying in hotel rooms.

We stayed for a week in this wonderful cozy clean apartment. Everything was as stated by the owner. We traveled with our 2 adult children and we had plenty of room. We had internet access which was nice since our college kids like to be connected. It was nice to be able to stretch out after a day of sightseeing in a living room, dining room, and kitchen instead of a hotel.
The location was perfect - walk one block and you were in the heart of Parc du Champs de Mars. Even though it was rainy for most of our stay in Paris, it was an easy walk to most attractions. Also very convenient to the Metro, bus, and RER on the days when we ventured further form the area. Several small grocery stores, patisseries, and wine stores very close which made it nice for breakfasts and the occasional dinner in the apartment. I would return and I highly recommend this apartment.

My wife and I spent a week in Paris and this apartment served as a great home base. It was a treat to walk home from the many convenient restaurants and see the Eiffel Tower lit up. There was also a little market and a bistro just outside the entrance. The street was quiet and we felt like we were part of a neighborhood instead of being in a major tourist center. It was a short walk to the Metro station as well as the train to Versailles. The apartment was clean and well-supplied (coffee maker, dishes, pans, dish towels) so it felt like home.

Everything went as planned from arrival to departure. This turned out to be both a great location and a wonderful apartment for a week long stay in Paris.

My friend and I had the opportunity to rent Dominique’s 2 bedroom apartment in Paris near the Eiffel Tower in September. It was everything as advertised, from the recent remodel to the fabulous location. It was close to the Metro, multiple bus stops, taxi stand, and walking distance to the Seine. It was truly one block from the Eiffel Tower, and put a smile on our face every time we saw it. Downstairs from the apartment are several café’s and small grocery stores, also a souvenir shop which was handy for those last-minute gifts.

The apartment was well-stocked. The heated towel rack in the bathroom served us well for drying hand-washables. Having a larger apartment, with living room and full kitchen, served us much better than two hotel rooms would have. The cost was very reasonable as well.

We called our host, Reinaldo, from the taxi leaving the airport and he met us at the apartment with no delays. Reinaldo was very helpful, showing us not only the apartment and how to use the appliances, but also very graciously left a detailed map for us and marked how to get to the various points of interest we wanted to visit. His details about what bus or train to take were very helpful. Reinaldo was a very gracious host for us.

We made good use of the free wifi in the apartment as well.

Dominique was very easy to deal with, from the multiple emails prior to our visit, to the confirmation of the return of our deposit – which came very quickly after our visit. She left specific instructions for the rental of the apartment, everyone’s responsibilities, and expectations while at the apartment. In our minds, this made everything easier.

If this is your first trip to Paris, be prepared to walk, walk, walk! It’s the best way to see everything. We also used Rick Steve’s Paris guide a lot, and saw a lot of other tourists doing the same.

We would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a great vacation in Paris.

What a Fabulous Apartment and Experience

What a wonderful visit to Paris. We were greeted right on time by the friendly and helpful host, Reinaldo. The apartment was enchanting. The décor was lovely and eclectic. It was fully stocked with everything anyone would need. There was a full kitchen with all the utensils to create a gourmet dinner—how welcoming. It was so much better than we ever imagined. In fact, I spent a little extra time in the apartment because it was so comfortable; I didn’t do as much sightseeing as I normally would.

For those of you who may be skeptics, like me, let me reassure you. The owner was so delightful and patient. I had a million questions about the payment process. In fact, I was quite nervous about laying out all that money ahead of time. I had a real trust in this owner and I took the plunge. Everything went perfectly. My security was returned promptly when I arrived at home. This experience made Paris even more beautiful.

Paris Perfection

My daughters and I could not have asked for a more perfect home away from home for our recent trip to Paris. The location of this apartment was outstanding! A few minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower, Rue Cler, Sunday open air markets and the main bus lines to everywhere! We were in the heart of Paris in a neighborhood that was quiet and relaxing. We felt like Parisians and not tourists! The bakery, small supermarket, quaint restaurants and shops were steps from the apartment.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful, clean and very well-maintained. The decor was modern but retained the historic feel of the building. We were very comfortable with the two spacious bedrooms and pull-out sofa. The large windows opened to a small courtyard so it was very quiet. Everything you need to make your stay comfortable was provided.

Reinaldo was very accomodating and helpful upon arrival. He was very thorough in acquainting us with the apartment and the surrounding neighborhood. What a wonderful ambassador. Dominique attended to all our questions promptly and was VERY helpful and understanding when our travel plans were interrupted. Thanks, Dominique!

You will not be disappointed with your visit to Paris and this amazing apartment. Every night was spent walking to the Champ de Mars and watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle. Every morning was spent with croissants from the bakery downstairs and fresh baguettes for our picnic in the local parks! Better book fast because we told all our friends!

Unequaled Paris

Our family of two parents and two college age daughters just spent a magnificent vacation in Paris. The newly remodelled apartment where we stayed was wonderful and ideally located. We were within a block of the Eiffel Tower, and within two blocks of the train that takes you to Versailles in one direction, and Notre Dame in the other direction. Because of the proximity to the Eiffel Tower, we were able to picnic at night there with wines and sandwhiches waiting with all of the other tourist for the magical time when the lights were turned on.
The 69 bus to the Louvre was also diagonolly across from the apartment. The wonderful Rue Le Cler that Rick Steve's always raves about was also a short walk away from the apartment.
Every morning we would purchase the pain au chocolate, croissants, and brioche from the excellent bakery next door to the apartment. The apartment comes fully stocked with a coffee maker and coffee filters, so just purchase your ground coffee, cream, milk, and orange juice from the downstairs grocery.
The apartment faces into a very quite courtyard. The beds were very comfortable, and there is a washer and dryer in the apartment which was an unexpected bonus. There is wifi and cable tv in the apartment. We felt really at home in Dominique's apartment and can't wait to return next summer. Buy the Rick Steves book for the expertise on getting around, and rent Dominique's apartment for a safe and perfectly situtated stay. You can't help but fall in love with Paris if you do.
