Best Trip to Capitola

We stayed in this home with 3 other couples for my husband's 40th Birthday Celebration and couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. Leonard was so wonderful to work with- and incredibly understanding regarding a spill on the carpet!
The location could not be beat as we were within walking distance to both the beach and downtown Capitola. We had fabulous meals at the local restaurants as well as wonderful home cooked meals in the home's well appointed kitchen.
The home was clean and extremely comfortable. The view of the ocean from the upper level of the home so beautiful, it was hard to tear away and actully take the 1 minute walk out to the beach.
We met the local neighbors when we made it out to the beach and everyone we so friendly. They had nothing but raves about the owner, Leonard, when they found out we were staying in his home.
We can't say enough wonderful things about our stay and our trip to Capitola. Thank you Leonard for sharing your home with us.

A Perfect Spring Break

We stayed here for a week in March with another family. The location was perfect. The kids loved being just steps from the beach. It is a short walk to restaurants and shops. We ate a Pizza My Heart several times. The kids thought having pizza on the beach was awesome. The house is big enough that you don't feel crowded with 10 people. Short drive to the Boardwalk. The Aquarium in Monterey is close too. The adults spent a lot of time around the built in kitchen table overlooking the beach and ocean in the evenings. After you make your initial trip to the grocery store or Costco, you don't have to ever leave. A couple of convenience stores close by for things you forgot. Great place for a family or two to enjoy a great beach.

awesome family getaway

our family of 6 adults, and 4 grandchildren (ages 6-13) fit perfectly into your wonderful home...kitchen was there for the use but we found that the convenience of capitolas restaraunt row (less than a block away) was too good to pass up...pier fishing was a great hit with our 13 year old grandson...the weather didnt cooperate (temperature wise) but our kids could care less as they were all over the beach building sand castles and even attacked the water some...adults enjoyed the quaint suroundings including great eating establishments, ice creme and candy shops....would return there in a minute when possible...owner was extremely easy to work with and returned some things we had forgotten at his expence....grammy &grampa, folsom

Beautiful getaway!

We stayed here for a week in February. We didn't have the greatest weather but it didn't seem to matter at all. It was very pleasant to stay indoors and just relax. The scenery was beautiful and the location was great. I stayed with my sisters and our kids and we had a great time. There were so many food choices that made everyone happy. Would love to come back and stay even longer!

Beautiful, Convenient, and Family Friendly

My family of three generations came here and couldn't have been more pleased with all the amenities (3 bathrooms!), location (near everything-beach, shops, surfing, fancy and casual restaurants), and style of the house. The bay window table and banquet made for perfect breakfasts for the kids. The outdoor patio with chairs were perfect for adults to have morning coffee and sunset drinks. The bathroom with access from the front entrance made it possible to come in quick from the beach (40 ft away) and not drag sand through the house (a parents delight).
There was plenty of privacy and little areas where someone could be on the computer, another group playing games at the table and another discussing the interests of the world in the living room or kitchen area. The upstairs views are beautiful. The entire ocean-facing part of the residence is windows so there is beautiful light all the time.
My favorite part of the house is that there was so much to do. I rented surf boards ($15) and wetsuits ($10) for my kids at Freeline on 41st St. and taught them to surf on the very gentle Capitola Point just down the beach. We went to the ice cream shop across from Margaritaville and got $1 mini ice cream cones every day. My mom shopped till she dropped! We had a lovely romantic dinner at The Shadowbrook Restaurant . My brother and his wife listened to live music and went dancing at one of the bars on river. The whole family took miles of walks and spent days lounging on the beach looking for shells and sea glass.
Overall, it was the most delightful 5 nights of vacation I've ever had with my whole family. The house was very nicely set up for a large multi-aged group (the grandkids were able to play downstairs when the Grandparents went to bed).
There is so much more I could say that I liked about the house but I'd most like to say that the owner was absolutely terrific to work with. He was responsive to all our little questions prior to our arrival and really went out of his way to make sure that our vacation was special and that we enjoyed the house.
We liked Zelda's for breakfast and happy hour. Pizza My Heart was great delivery pizza. RipTide and Freeline Surf shops on 41st street teach surf lessons and rent gear. The clam chowder in a bread bowl beat the band at the restaurant on the wharf at lunch. The little tackle shop on the wharf had sweatshirts for half the price of those in town and fun sand toys... The place was great! We loved it!
