Wow! What a special place. We could not have celebrated our anniversary at a better spot. The accomendations and setting were perfect. I caught trout in creek and bass in pond. We also saw a large turtle in the pond, its shell was probably 18 inches across. The fireplace and hot tub added to the atmosphere.The creek room was a great area to read and listen to the creek. Where to begin? We drove up after dark to an adorable cabin and twinkle lights in the trees; what a welcome treat! The door opened to reveal lit candles (flameless, of course) and a 40's station playing on the radio, it couldn't have been more perfect for our girls weekend. We awoke to a rainy day...and I mean, ALL DAY. Didn't damper our spirits, though! The cabin is beyond cozy and we settled in for a day of reading and chatting with our wine and a fire. Thank goodness the grill is under an awning so we were able to cook out for dinner! We left the next morning arguing over who was gonna get what dates on the calendar to come back! How quickly can we get back here? Peace out, NYC!!

The cabin is so well stocked. Wonderful furniture, so many comfy spots to curl up with a book or nap, and the kitchen is fully stocked....we didn't want for anything! If we did, Andrew or Nathan was sure to take care of it right away; awesome guys to deal with.....

I've already made my res for next time. Hopefully, the sun will be out and we can make real use of the grounds....that hammock has my name ALL over it.

Thanks a lot Big Al! The kids had a blast hiking thorugh the woods, fishing in the pond and roasting marshmellows by the fire. It was exactly what we were looking for. Hopefully, the wife and I can make a separate trip to the cabin in the near future.

We stayed at the creek house for three nights and absolutely loved it! My family has stayed at several cabins, B&Bs, hotels and campsites in our travels and almost always go somewhere different. I think that might change after staying here.

It is about 90 minutes from our home but feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. The cabin is small but not at all cramped. You can read by the fire or open the windows and sit in the creek room and listen to the rushing water. The ONLY complaint really was that the pots and pans were not gourmet chef quality, but you can definitely get by with what is there. If you plan to do a lot of cooking you may want to bring your own cookware.

The best part of the creek house, of course, is the surroundings. We visited Bushkill Falls and hiked the trails around the cranberry bogs but mostly just stayed at the property. Our kids (7 and 10) played in and around the creek almost the entire weekend while my wife read and I sat by the campfire. I can't remember the last time we had such a peaceful and relaxing weekend!

There are good places to eat nearby and resorts and towns within easy driving distances. The Snydersville Diner was good and we also ate at the Gem and Keystone Brewpub near Shawnee and the food was excellent. I had to pick up a prescription and the nearest CVS in town was 10-15 minutes away (saw 12 deer on the way there).

If you want a relaxing weekend this is a perfect place. The cabin and property are beautiful and you feel like you’re all alone but if you do need to venture out there are lots to do within a short drive.

The property was more beautiful than I could have imagined. Trees stretched out throughout the land and their branches reached out as if they were trying to hug the world. When I stepped through the door of the Creek House, butterflies danced in my belly like ballerinas on a colorful stage as I took a look around. It was beautiful, adorable, and the smell reminded of cozy fresh blanket you just pulled from the drier. The fireplace place was big and inviting, my dogs loved lying in front of it. They also enjoyed exploring the 14 acres, which had a cute bridge and a very big pond. I had been to a couple of other Pocono properties and this was the best by far! The managers of the property were so kind and extremely helpful. I will definitely be returning! Oh and do try the pies at the local diner, they were so delicious!! Thank you Big Al's Creek House for a memorable vacation!

This was my second trip to Big Al's in January(2012 & 2013). This trip sealed the deal for me....Big Al's is a very special place. From the moment you walk in...the soft lighting, the accent music playing in the background and the smell of the woods and cabin. Ahhhhh!!!! the stress seems to just melt away. The weather for this trip wasn't that good but it really didn't seem to matter. It was just about my wife and I shutting it down and enjoying each other's company and there's no better place for it than Big Al's. See you in 2014!


Renter's Tip: Furino's Restaurant must have made some changes because the food was great this year and they deliver!!! Enjoy!

As soon as we opened the door to the cabin, we were impressed. A perfect, quaint getaway where the only noise you hear is the water of the creek that is literally right outside your window. Although all modern technologies are provided (TV, internet, stereo with iPod docking station) we found ourselves sitting in front of the fire with a good old-fashioned game of Scrabble. Cabin was clean and the decor was absolutely charming. We will be back for sure!
