Great Mountain Getaway
We stayed at the Blue Arrow Cottage during Memorial Day weekend and can't say enough good things about this place. The house was beautifully decorated and very family friendly. The setting was very quiet and peaceful. There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc much more than would be available in most hotel/motel efficiency suites. Pretty much everything we needed was available. The only negative, and this is a very small one, is that we could not get reception on either of the TVs. However, each TV had a DVD/VCR and there were movies available in both formats if you wanted to view them or take you own. The good side of this, is that we had even better quality time together because of this. We explore the woods and creeks during the day and built a fire in the firepit both nights. It was just a great, great time. Our cell phone reception wasn't great, but I did have a Verizon Mi-Fi and we had a great internet connection with that, enough to stream videos without buffering. One caveat t would be renters, the nearest "grocery" store in Rosman is an IGA which pretty much is a convenience store with convenience store prices. If you're coming in from the Brevard, there are several grocery stores that would be a better choice. I don't know about coming in the SC, but you may want to stop and buy groceries before getting to Rosman. Again, that's not a negative, just some friendly advice. One of the great things about being secluded is how quiet and beautiful it is, so it's a very minor trade off. We highly recommend the Blue Arrow Cottage. My wife is already talking about a "Girl's Getaway" and we'll definitely visit again as a family.
