Light House by the Sea says it all - a large wonderful, bright, cheery beach cottage with your own private pool. Newly renovated, we offer a 5 bedroom beach house (Kids bonus room/bedroom is attached to Master Suite) which truly has all the amenities to make your vacation a memorable experience.

We are just 4 houses in from the beach, so it is less than a two minute walk to the exquisite white sand and emerald water of the Gulf of Mexico. And just a few blocks to some of the best shopping and restaurants Destin has to offer.

Families and large groups find this the perfect beach house for them, as there is plenty of space for everyone. You can relax by the pool while enjoying an outdoor BBQ, or come and go from the beach as you please. We have the most ideal location being in the charming beach community of Crystal Beach in the heart of Destin. Area Information:

THE BEACH

Public beach access is approximately a 2 minute walk, and allows you access to the beautiful sugar white sand and emerald green waters of The Gulf of Mexico.

DINING

Casual and fine dining is close by with Camille's Restaurant, just 3 blocks away, or at the Crystal Beach Inn. There are many other restaurants along Scenic Gulf Drive such as The Crab Trap, Captain Dave's, or our family favorite, Pompano Joe's where you can enjoy fresh seafood. Many of the restaurants have outdoor decks for enjoying the views and breezes of the Gulf.

RECREATION

Destin offers exciting water activities; snorkeling, parasailing, sunset cruises, glass bottom boat excursions, dolphin watching and scuba diving. The Big Kahuna Water Park is another favorite family attraction. You will also find an abundance of golf courses in and around Destin. Just three blocks away you can rent scooters, bikes or kayaks.

SHOPPING

The Destin Commons shopping area is less than a mile away and has the 14 screen Rave Movie Theater, Hard Rock Cafe, Bass Pro Shop, and Build a Bear Workshop, as well as many other specialty shops and department stores. Closer to the house and within walking distance is Barnes and Noble and Best Buy. The Silver Sands Outlet Mall is located within 3 miles and provides more excellent shopping for those great bargains as it is the nation's largest outlet shopping center.

Location, Location, Location - We LOVE the beach and this home is just steps away from the beach and everything else the area has to offer. We were particularly attracted to the family neighborhood and spend as much time as we can here.

What makes this house unique

The beach is incredible, the neighborhood is family oriented with a playground nearby, the extra large pool is great for kids and there is lot of shopping & restaurants within walking distance...we just love it here!

Tons of space! Great location!

My large family stayed here for 7 days recently and had a great time. The home is absolutely HUGE and everyone had plenty of space. We especially enjoyed having 2 kitchens and 2 laundry rooms! Our kids also enjoyed the upstairs bedroom (plenty of room for 4 kids and their own TV!). And we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the cabana in the backyard. Our kids swam several times per day. Some of the negatives - the beds! Especially the upstairs king bed - sinks in the middle - needs replacement. Also, the sliding door out to the pool - extremely heavy to move (needs to be looked at by repairmen - maybe off track?). The biggest negative for us was the walk to the beach. Even though it's only 3-5 minutes, it seems much longer when you are carrying cooler, umbrellas and chairs...The last few days we were there we hardly went to the beach. But there were plenty of other things to do in the area - Destin Commons shopping/movies were great as well as outlets at Sandestin. Two people in our group brought their bikes and rode to Starbucks every day. Overall it was a very nice vacation. The home is in a convenient location and close to everything!!

Recommended for: Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
