We had a family reunion at this clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated home. It suited our party of eight adults and one child very well! Glen, the owner, was a gracious host. We were the first guests of the season and he drove down on our first day to connect the WiFi for us. He also was eager to recommend local sights and restaurants and said to call his cell if we had any questions. It was great to know that he was available.

One nice thing about the house was that there was an upstairs living room as well as a downstairs family room, so we could have multiple public spaces for spreading out and enjoying each other's company. The back deck was comfortable and although we didn't use it, the back lawn was in great shape and would be a nice place for kids to play.

The kitchen was adequate for cooking all of our meals. Next time we will bring our own equipment if we plan to bake anything; while there was a great set of stainless steel pots and pans, there were no baking sheets or mixing bowls.

The local beach really was beautiful and uncrowded all three days we went. Soft sand felt great underfoot. The beach was a mile away and without public parking, so we enjoyed having long walks with the family to and from the beach. Glen also offered us use of the bikes for making this trip and suggested that a driver could drop off family and beach gear, then drive home and bike back to the shore. If we had wanted to carry more things or avoid the long walk, we could have driven to one of the nearby state beaches instead.

All in all, we would definitely recommend this property to large groups and consider returning in the future!

Great Vacation (31 July-7 Aug 2010)

My family had a wonderful vacation at 22 Fairway! The house was, clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. We had 3 generations of family members from Minn., Fla, Kan, and Cal. We were 6-7 adults and 4-5 kids depending on the day. The house has such a great floor plan that we all had enough space. We enjoyed meals on the deck (cook-outs on the grill as well as lobster, clams, etc.) and games (paddle ball, etc.) in the yard. The kids gathered shells at the rocky beach. It is a great location for beaches in the south, trips to Jamestown, Newport, and Wickford. We made nightly trips to Brickley's for ice cream. We were all sorry to leave and look forward to returning.
