We had a very nice time at this house. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a great location right on the water. The beach was a great place to launch our canoes and the deck was lovely for sitting out and visiting. The owner was great to work with and we would come back again.

We have vacationed at this property for two consecutive years with our two children and their families, a total of six adults and six children. The close proximity to the bridge where two marinas are located gave convenient access to pontoon boats, jet skis, tubes and knee boards for towing kids, etc. At the bridge, there are a couple of places to eat as well as putt putt golf. Our favorite features of the house include the two story deck, relaxing on the large upper deck any time of day and using the smaller lower deck for tying up the boat, kids' fishing. Also, the set-back of the cove allows the children to swim and play in the water without any concern of boats coming too close and we could see them easily from the upper deck.

The property was clean, although some of the bedroom carpeting and the master bedroom linens were a bit tired and some of the deck furniture could use a little fix-up. Bring your own paper goods and kitchen and bathroom soap.

The house is not fancy, but is comfortable. With 6 children, we were more at ease with the fact that it is not a five star property. It is a relaxing, spacious home with great views and we found that we enjoyed cooking at home and eating on the upper deck. The front porch has comfortable chairs for getting away from the noise of a family or for those who want a quiet place to read or rock a baby.

We plan to return to this property.

For the past 4 years we have been renting at SML for a week's vacation with our children and grandchildren. This year was the BEST vacation ever because of this home! The layout of the house, deck and yard was perfect. The home was spacious with plenty of sleeping areas and bathrooms, large kitchen with two refrigerators, large open concept and had a beautiful sunroom and great room to relax in. The yard had several spots with seating to relax and take in various lake views. My favorite spot were the chairs on the point where we were right on the water's edge and could enjoy the boats coming and going. The beach area was perfect for our 3 grandchildren and the party deck and lower deck made outside living extremely nice! We fell in love with this home and have already rented it for next summer and can't wait! It is the perfect vacation home with a perfect location!

Our sibling reunion weekend (seven adults) was a success in the Hulett home on Smith Mountain Lake. We loved the location on the lake and the views were spectacular! Though the weather didn’t always cooperate over the Labor Day weekend, we enjoyed a rental pontoon on the lake for fishing, sightseeing, and just being out on the water. Carolyn was easy to work with and we even enjoyed WiFi at the home that was not listed in the VRBO write-up. We also found the parking to be ample and even had relatives visit for a dinner one evening for a total of five vehicles with room to spare. Though the house is older we found it to be a delightful place to get together!

This house is great gathering place for multiple families. There is plenty of space to gather and great outdoor space on party deck. It is in a great location by land and lake. You can boat across the lake to get worms for fishing, just a few coves down to dock/eat at Jake's place, or just under the bridge for ice cream and putt-putt. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. We would rent this property again in the future.

Upon entering the 4000 ft. home it was easy to see there was plenty of quiet areas to get away as well as gathering together spaces. The property was well maintained, clean and comfortable. The house was very well equipped. In fact we found that we brought more kitchen equipment than we needed and the second refrigerator a definite bonus. Everything was as promised and Carolyn was VERY easy to deal with. The 650 ft. shoreline made us feel that we had our own private resort. Our toddler enjoyed the beach area while the teens enjoyed swimming and boating from the dock. The surrounding lawn allowed for Bocchi and corn hole games and the party deck was wonderful for reading and sunning. Inside there were puzzles and games for all ages in case a rainy day came by. We found that everything we needed was close as well, a marina, grocery stores, gas, ice, etc. All was as advertised and better. We plan on returning and will surely recommend it to anyone from 2yrs to 72yrs.!
