This is a building that was constructed in 1642 in the heart of the Ile Saint Louis. One of the rare old buildings on the island that has an elevator - keeping the style of the old and the convenience of the new.
The Ile Saint Louis is perfect for discovering and simply enjoying Paris. From the apartment you can walk to the Pompidou Center, the Louvre, the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, Saint Germain and many more monuments and sights, yet still enjoy the village atmosphere of the Island and its friendly shops... The butcher, baker, cheese shop, fruit & vegetable stands, cafés, typical French bistros and restaurants - all a few steps away.
As an American who planned to visit France for a year and ended up staying forever, I especially fell in love with the authentic feeling of this 17th century building in the center of the island in the center of Paris. Even though the apartment has been remodeled, we have kept the old beams and large windows that have north, east, south, and west exposures.
It is also near most of the train stations for easy access to the airports and visiting other sights outside the city.
There's no more relaxing experience than going to the corner café for a 'petit dejeuner' in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening before either cooking in at the convenient kitchen - all supplies for gourmet cooking - or going out to one of the fine parisian restaurants nearby.
