Photos and Description of the Christina Lake vacation house rental
House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5)

The eagle moon cottage is a 1000 square foot home nestled in the woods about 11 kilometers from the town of Grand Forks and about 20 kilometers from Christina Lake. It is situated on 20 acres of land of which 10 acres front the Grandby River. There are several sandy beaches and bars that appear in summer for private bathing. The eagle moon is private, cozy and very romantic, ideal for all seasons.

There is a small local ski hill about 20 minutes away and several well know large ski hills within 40 minutes to 2 hours away. The town of Grand Forks is quaint and the people are delightful. There are cool artsy coffee shops and several wonderful gift shops sporting local artists work, the winters are soft core, with snow showing up usually in December and departing in March.

The temperatures are mild in winter and very comfortable in spring, summer and fall. The scenery is breathtaking - every turn in the road, a photographer's heaven. Wild life abound.

There is a large home known as the Eagle Sun Lodge on a separate 20 acres, but within walking distance of the Eagle Moon. It can be rented along with the eagle moon for large groups such as reunions or wedding parties.

About The Owner

I would say I am a business person ( Cancerian style) on the outside and perhaps somewhat of a hippy on the inside. I have two children a son and a daughter who live in Santa Cruz , Ca. I raised them for the most part as a single mom. Luckily my chosen career was as a registered nurse which provided our monetary security and the possibility of owning a home. I have always felt at home and at peace when surrounded by nature and a bit away from all the fussing and fighting ( so to speak). So when I looked for a home for us I sought out land, water and that which felt carried the ' sacred' . I am not ' new agey' but I would say my thinking leans towards eastern rather that western thought. I believe all living things have a right to be here and a right to equal respect. I include nature in that thinking. I live part time in Kauai, Hawaii now and they have what they call ' kuleana ' It means personal responsibility towards all that you do and care for. I try to live like that. When I purchased this land I felt a responsibility towards it and I still carry that feeling. I feel it is a very special place on earth. Apparently it was a Native Americian healing ground. My kids and i experience that every time we here. I feel it is also good to share with other's something that is special such as this place. Offering it as a vacation rental has allowed me to let others come and go from this home and take away whatever is in their capacity to experience.

I had a thoroughly wonderful and remarkable time for my entire seven day stay at Eagle Moon Cottage. It's the perfect place to rejuvenate and restore body, mind and spirit. I look forward to returning soon, and staying longer. (The nearby Kettle Valley Railway / Trans Canada Trail cycle path from Grand Forks to Christina Lake looks like a a sweet ride just waiting to be explored, to be followed by a steamy bowl of delicious homemade borscht somewhere back in town, and maybe a movie and popcorn at the funky theatre... Life is good and Eagle Moon Cottage makes it even better...) Thank you Dawn, for sharing your beautiful and special place.

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights at Eagle Moon Cottage. We loved the peace and quiet of the location, which is about 10 minutes from the town of Grand Forks. All the comforts of home, yet a feeling of being away from it all. We golfed in Christina Lake and Rossland, did some hiking, paddled up the river in a dingy (which was provided), did some excellent star-gazing, and relaxed. We plan to do it again next year.

We rented this cozy house during a rainy week. It didn't matter. We enjoyed the quietness, nature (deer, birds and even a moose) and just the fact that we could relax.
The cabin is funished with all your typical household and amenities. We surely would recommend it to you if you need a restfull holiday and you like to be at a quiet place.
