3 bedroom 3.5 baths sleeps 6

One of a kind Sugar Mill Home with 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and sleeps 6 people. Come and enjoy!!

Mango and turpentine trees line the driveway. Oleander, hibiscus and African tulip trees bloom in vibrant colors around the mill. At the end of the walk leading to the dramatic entrance of the mill, you’ll enter a large circular living room with a stunning arched window on the far wall. Up the quaint curving stairway is one bedroom with its own bathroom. Down another stairway and connected to the mill is a modern kitchen, dining area, great room, two air conditioned bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Stepping outside you’ll find extensive patios for your morning coffee/tea or for dining al fresco in the soothing evening breeze. A hot tub overlooks the ruins of the 19th century sugar factory. West end beaches and restaurants are an 8-minute drive. Just up the road is the Virgin Islands Sustainable Farm Institute, which was featured in the October 2009 issue of Caribbean Travel and Life magazine

Beautifully furnished, private and secluded, Annaly Mill is a truly unique site for the artist, writer, or discerning Caribbean traveler wanting to experience a tranquil plantation setting reminiscent of the Danish days on St. Croix.

This renovated historic sugar mill, built in 1803 for grinding sugar cane using wind power, was first transformed into a vacation retreat in 1946 by Ward Canaday, President of Willy’s Overland Inc. Mr. Canaday’s company provided all of the Jeeps for the US Armed Forces during World War II. Since then it has been visited by President Harry S. Truman and Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.

Annaly Mill will be featured in HGTV 'You Live In What?' March 29, 2013 at 8:00pm. It was also highlighted in Coastal Living April issue and played host to Celebrity Chef Kevin Rathburn and award-winning winemakers Dr. Kent and Kathy Rosenblum during the St. Croix Food and Wine Experience Cork and Fork Dinner (www.stcroixfoodandwine.com)

Unique experience

Staying at historic 200+ year old Annaly Mill was a unique experience. It sits high on a hilltop with a large terrace overlooking a great expanse (valley, distant hills, rain forest) in which the colors and sights are constantly changing. This is a great place to kick-back. The beach and town are just a short drive away, but the location was so beautiful, quiet and restful we were never in a rush to head out for the day. The house is nicely renovated and comfortably furnished, yet many of the original features of the mill are in tact. The owners were very helpful and accomodating. We will go back there again.
