A wonderful holiday in Longboat Key
We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Longboat Key. We have three boys aged 8,9 and 13. We arrived at the villa at midnight and were greeted by the very friendly owners, Leo and Pamela who welcomed us and showed us around. They had lots of useful local information and the villa was fitted with everything a family would need. The villa was just as described , was exremely clean and well stocked with essentials such as toilet paper, washing powder , dishwasher tablets, a fridge full of bottled water and a welcoming bottle of wine!
The pool was lovely and bigger than it looked on the photo. There were also many pool toys available for use. The boys were thrilled with all the board games on offer as well as the many channels on the TV.
We made great use of the private beach - never seeing more than 10 people at a time!!!
The villa was in a great location - 8 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minute drive to a large, new Publix supermarket and 2 miles to the very beatiful St Armand Square where there is a great chioce of restaurants and gift shops. We had a couple of delicious meals at the Columbia restaurant and also really enjoyed the New Pass Grill - both the St Armand's branch and the waterside branch close to the aquarium.
We hired a boat for a couple of days (from Cannons Marina) and would really recomend this as a great way to spend a couple of days. We also went to an evening opening of a sea turtle nest and were thrilled to see two baby turtles released to the sea.
All in all , we had a great holiday - wonderful location and lovely, clean , well-cared for villa with extremely welcoming hosts!
