Located on the California Riviera, in the prestigious Monarch Beach area of Dana Point. This light, bright & airy condominium is only a short walk (five minutes) from Dana Strand/Salt Creek Beach. The Fabulous Five-Star Ritz Carlton and Saint Regis Hotels are l mile away The incredible Montage Resort & Spa is just 3 miles north and the walk along the bluff over-looking the ocean is one you will always remember. The beautiful Dana Point harbor is less than one mile away and features fine dining, water sport rentals and boutique shops. This is a ground floor easy access condominium that is beautifully decorated in a beach cottage style. It features a luxurious king-size bed, two twin beds and queen-size sofa sleeper. You have a full kitchen, dining room, laundry room, High Speed Internet Wi-Fi, two TVs with cable access, DVD and CD player. All bed and bath linens are provided as well as beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella. Your will find area maps, guide books and dining suggestion.

My sisters and I had a great Sister's Vacation. Before arriving I told Ralph how important this vacation was going to be with my sisters and it was everything we could have ever hoped for. We arrived a little early and Ralph was gracious enough to allow us in before the 3:00pm check-in time. That was nice because one sister came from Long Beach, two from Illinois and I was from Michigan and we were all very tired.
The condo was clean, well maintained and just as it was described. We were pleasantly surprised with the closet space and all the different space to place your personal belongings (very important for females). Also the complimentary kitchen and dining items were also a surprise. We often said during our stay that everything we need is here.
Our first full day was spent at our nephew's wedding in Long Beach. Our 2nd day we visited two churches in the Long Beach area and ate at The Yard Restaurant where the food and atmosphere was excellent. The 3rd day we shopped at a mall in the area of Dana Point, 4th day was spent on Catalina Island where we took a tour around the island, 5th day at Glen Ivy Spa in Corona, mall shopping again and endless days and nights walking that beautiful Strand Beach. We really liked the idea of having a choice of walking the boardwalk overlooking the beach or walking down to the beach ~ and the Pacific sunsets were breathtaking.
We had many days and nights of talking, taking pictures and creating loving memories that will be with us forever. The owner Ralph was very nice. The many activities, attractions and restaurants in the area help to make this location a five star.
Thank you Ralph and we hope to return again someday!

Perfect Stay!

The pictures don't do this place justice! The condo is well furnished and decorated and has ample pantry and closet space. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is well stocked. We appreciated having a washer and dryer in the condo and also appreciated the closet full of beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, toys, etc ... everything needed for a day at the beach!
The overall complex is well situated for exploring Orange County and beyond! The grounds are well maintained and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub after a day at the beach or sight seeing!
The owner was pleasant to work with and was always quick to respond to inquiries. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and relatives.
We enjoyed visiting Laguna Main and Aliso Beaches, San Clemente and eating at the restaurant on the pier, and the beach area close to the condo. Our only disappointments were Crystal Cove (not easy access) and Balboa Island (too crowded).
We hope to return again someday!

We had a great vacation in CA, of which we spent 10 days in this wonderful condo. It has everything you can wish for, good beds, tv, wifi (very important for teenagers!). The pool close by and the beach across the street. We hope to return some day as it is very convenient to have our own place when visiting our relatives here in Dana Point.

My husband and I spent a delightful month in Dana Point at
the condo. It is clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need to keep house. The location is amazing. We watched whales from the patio and saw some gorgeous sunsets. A short walk across the street and down the hill takes you to a long, sand beach. There are a number of restaurants close by and jogging, hiking and biking trails outside your door. It is centrally located for any sightseeing you want to do in southern Cal. The owners
couldn't have been more accommodating or easier to work with. We highly recommend this property and would
like to return. The Knights

The condo was beautiful inside, extremely well equipped and very well located. You can see the ocean and are close to the pool without being bothered by it. We are a family of 4 with kids aged 9 and 12 and we all loved it. Local restaurants were excellent (we liked Mahe and Lucianas). Location was super with central LA 1 hour North and San Diego (visit the zoo) 1 hour to the South.
Ralph, our host was very attentive. The condo was very clean and well maintained.
One note - this is a condo and is the ground floor. For europeans note that the wooden construction of the building means you WILL hear the people above you. That was the only negative point.
We have stayed in larger places (like 7 bedroom homes in Florida) and this condo although smaller had a great feeling of space. We were never crowded. Southern California has such a sence of peace and is so pretty - we can't wait to visit again.
We were surprised by the August weather. It was between 25-30 degrees C most days - very mild - which was great. Inland and the parks were very hot. Kids loved Knotts Berry Farm, Legoland.
Try a helicopter tour of LA to get close to the Hollywood sign..
We would recommend this town and this condo to anyone.

We stayed at this property for a week and I couldn't have been happier. It was the first time we have stayed at a rental property and not a hotel and I am so happy we did. Ralph was awesome and was always available to talk with us. I loved the condo. I have twin girls who at the time were 18mths and I loved that the property had tile throughout so I wasn't worried about carpet. It was roomy and the the location to the beach was excellent. It was super clean and I would definitely stay there again. Thanks Ralph!!!

What can one say other than perfect! We spent 2 incredible weeks in Dana Point, made all the better by having the perfect base to adventure out from. Arriving at the Cottage really set the tone for our vacation away from rainy England to a sun soaked stay in California.
As a family of 4, including 2 teenagers (who like their space!), Blue Dolphin was great. Roomy, cool and well equipped, the icing on the cake were the fantastic views of the sunsetting over the ocean with a few glasses of Californian Red!
We took full advantage of the pool, which was quiet and on most days we had it to ourselves for a while - luxury! Waking up and being able to run along the beach was bliss as was strolling along it to watch the sun go down.
The Harbour in Dana Point was great with plenty of places to eat and make merry. The highlight of the trip was a day out on the ocean whale watching which was very successful and made one our daughter's dreams come true - all in all, a day never to be forgotten.
Anaheim was about 45 minutes away - perfect for visiting Disney (the new World of Colour was awesome) and the other theme parks being just a bit further away.
In sum, we had a wonderful break away from dreary Britian in April which was made all the better by having somewhere like Blue Dolphin to stay in.
overall 10/10 and we'll be back!

My family of 4 and I stayed here in early May for a total of 4 nights. Our stay consisted mainly of relaxing on the beach and napping in the beautifully decorated bedrooms. We loved every minute of our stay, Ralph and Jeanette were very nice hosts and even had snacks on the table for us. I have two little toddlers, and they had so much fun, they felt right at home! They had a crib, and toys for the sand on the beach! Overall I would recommend this place to anyone, especially families with children... We can't wait to go back next summer :)

We live on Orcas Island, in the San Juan Islands, WA, with a beautiful view of the ocean. This was the second year we have rented Blue Dolphin Cottage for 4 months with its more than equally spectacular view of the Pacific. We happily trade a view filtered by fir trees and eagles for one decorated with palms with pelicans soaring past. Winters are for sunshine and relaxing and we cannot begin to tell you how happy we are here in this home away from home. We unplug the phone, pop some popcorn, hike the beaches, fly tiny radio control planes in the beach parking lot, fall asleep on the beach, listen to the deep bass of the Dana Point buoy late into the night, sleep with the patio door open, see our boys and our grandson 15 minutes away, find wonderful new and go back to old favorite restaurants when we feel the urge, catch a senior late matinee on Wednesdays for $4 if we like the film, buy fresh everything at farmers markets in Laguna Beach and San Juan Capistrano, have all the family over for breakfast on a weekend, or a dinner casual. We stay busy if we wish, but its by our own design and Blue Dolphin makes it so easy to be the architects of that time in our lives when that is the way it should be.
Ralph and Jeanette are perfect hosts, helpful, accommodating, and so easy going. Everything is here that you need. This is luxury without knowing it or shouting about it. No need to look or browse anywhere else, your search is over. We are coming back next winter again but the rest of the year is yours though we are sorely tempted to stay even longer :).

Perfect Place to Relax

We spent the month of November at the Blue Dolphin Cottage. What a wonderful place! We came to Orange County to met our new grandson who lives in Irvine. The location was perfect; not too close, not too far away.
The condo more than met our expectations. The furnishings were beautiful, everything we could need was provided and the view was spectacular. Don't miss the sunsets right off the patio!
There were so many things to do. We walked on the beach, found some great places to eat, (make sure to check out the white information book on the coffee table), visited the Reagan Library,
the Queen Mary, The Nixon Library, Capistrano, took a beautiful ride up in the mountains to town called Julian, went wine tasting in Temecula and other day trips too numerous to mention.
We hosted many family dinners in the condo with up to 12 people at a time and had plenty of room to eat and great facilities to cook for a crowd. Our new grandson came to visit and it was wonderful to take him for a walk along the beach.
The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, always ready to answer our questions. The condo was incredibly clean and everyting you could need to keep it that way was provided. Loved having the washer and dryer on site, next time we won't need to bring so many clothes!!
We would reccommend this property to anyone who is looking for a homey, clean and relaxing place to vacation. We will be back.
