Perfect Family Get Away!!!!!!
My wife and I and our 4 kids just spent the best week here. The property manager, Lisa, was one of the biggest reasons we choose this location out of the many we looked at. She is quick with her communication and very willing to work with whoever wants to stay here.
The cottage is large and very comfortable. The rooms are large and spacious and furnished very nicely. The kitchen allows you to choose to stay in and cook or the location is very near some excellent restaurants ( KC Crabs and Cues, Charlie's Tiki Grill, and Anna's Pizza) to name a few. With the pool nearby, and the play area right outside the front door, it is super family friendly (our boys just loved looking at all the boats in the marina).
The cottage itself is in a nice quiet small town, but travel to Virginia attractions such as Busch Gardens or Colonial Williamburg, is only about 45 minutes away.
In all, we plan on coming back as many years as we can and recommend to anyone and everyone to check it out. It is a really nice place the come and stay.

What a wonderful place to stay!!!
My wife and I had an absolute Blast when we stayed at the Chesapeake Boat Basin Cottage! We really enjoyed fishing in the Lancaster County Spanish Mackerel Tournament and enjoyed the hospitality of everyone involved, especially Clay and Lisa. They were very accommodating even letting me check into the cottage a day early so I could tow my boat up prior to the tournament and also make it to the captain's meeting. We love the area and all that there is to do up there, from fishing on the Bay, touring the many different vineyards, to all the history in the area. A week was definitely not enough time to take in all the splendor and beauty of the area and we plan to make this trip again in the future. We are looking forward to our next trip up to the wonderful little town of Kilmarnock and also visiting out friends at Chesapeake Boat Basin!

Great Time with New Friends
My wife and I had an absolute Blast when we stayed at the Chesapeake Boat Basin Cottage! We really enjoyed fishing in the Lancaster County Spanish Mackerel Tournament and enjoyed the hospitality of everyone involved, especially Clay and Lisa. Without the owners help you would never find the cottage it's a hidden gold mine. The cottage is so welcoming and comfortable, the layout is excellent and the furnishing are outstanding what a great place to come to relax! This is a beautiful cottage with a stunning view of the water, everything we could possibly need was right here excellent condition with all the amenities necessary for a relaxing vacation. The property is an easy walk to town, close to shopping, fishing etc... grilling and a pool almost at your door,Great for families and friends. High value when compared to other Rentals. So if you are looking for a place to vacate or a weekend get away, give the owner a call, very nice folks. We definitely recommend and hope to return ourselves.

Highly recommended if you just want to get away!
This place was very quiet, clean, and well stocked. The kitchen is a decent size. It has a large refrigerator, myriad of utensils, cups, plates and appliances. The living room has enough sofa space for 7 people. It also has a 42" Samsung LCD HDTV with DirectTV and DVD player. The house stayed warm even though it was very cold outside. Not to mention, the hot water was always available for the 7 of us that were there. The free Wi-Fi was also nice. The house is about 50 feet from the pier. There is also an available grill that you can use that is overlooking the pier. Another nice thing about the house is that it is away from other houses. This was important as our group was quite loud late at night. However, we did not have to worry about neighbors complaining because there isn't a house right next to this one. The house is also well furnished and clean. I would highly recommend this place if you just want to get away. We also went during the winter so were not able to enjoy the beaches and fishing. Our group was from the DC metro area so this place was a good change of pace. It was nice to get away from the fast pace. This place is not a city, it is a town. The closest movie theater is over an hour away. There is a Wal-Mart 5 minutes away and a few fast food restaurants very close by. However, don't be surprised if you can't find a TGIF or Olive Garden within 25 miles of here. Lastly, the management is very helpful and friendly. They do enough to let you know they are there if there are any problems, but never get in the way of your vacation.
