Charming vacation cottage in a quiet setting near the famous La Jolla Cove.
This one bedroom cottage is in a perfect location - just a few minutes walk from the ocean and close to the renowned restaurants and galleries on Prospect St. The cottage is fully furnished and has laundry on site, a broadband wireless Internet connection, and cable TV. The bedroom has a queen size bed. There is a private patio and a shed that has two beach cruisers and beach chairs. There is a public garage around the corner ( $5 a day)
The location is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, diving, surfing, walking along the coast, viewing seals, golfing, kayaking, tennis, whale watching, and biking. There are grocery stores within walking distance. A 20 minute commute from the San Diego airport. A bus stops one block away which can take you to the UTC shopping mall and UCSD. Other nearby attractions include the Birch Aquarium, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, the Wild Animal Park, and the museums of Balboa Park.

Thanks, Sue for your feedback. I realize we put the coffee table there for the ease of putting a lap top on it, but it prevents the couch from reclining.

LOVING LA JOLLA

I STAYED AT THE COTTAGE FOR 10 DAYS. I CAME FOR A WEDDING AND TO RECONNECT WITH OLD FRIENDS. THE COTTAGE IS IN A TERRIFIC LOCATION. WALKED EVERYWHERE IN LA JOLLA. OF COURSE THERE IS THE PARKING ISSUE, BUT THAT IS NORMAL FOR THE VILLAGE. I LOVED THE COTTAGE...NEAR PERFECT REALLY. JUST A FEW COMMENTS. THE LOVE SEAT IS NOT SO COMFORTABLE FOR WATCHING TV...I WAS NEVER ABLE TO GET THE DVD PLAYER TO WORK, I WOULD SUGGEST DIRECTIONS FOR THAT. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO WATCH A FEW MOVIES. AND THE COFFEE MAKER COULD BE UPGRADED A LITTLE. ....THE BED WAS GREAT...LOTS OF NICE TOWELS AND SHEETS. ALL AND ALL A VERY COMFORTABLE COZY VACATION SPOT.... I COULD LIVE THERE. SO I WILL PLAN A VISIT AGAIN I AM SURE. THANKS SURY! IT WAS GREAT TO BE BACK IN CALIFORNIA.

Great little cottage

Everything was just as advertised. We stayed for a week and did not rent a car. Everything is within walking distance. The cottage was spotless! Everything worked nicely. The bed was comfortable. The neighborhood was totally quiet. It was a great quiet getaway. Thank you!

A charming, peaceful, centrally located oasis.. As described, but far exceeded our expectations. We hope to make this beautiful cottage our annual retreat! La Jolla is always stunningly beautiful; but this cottage made a great vacation, truly exceptional. Sary was the perfect host. Thank you!

Quiet, comfortable, relaxing

The house was exactly as pictured. Comfortable, clean and neat. Very convenient to restaurants and a grocery store and a very short walk to La Jolla Cove, home to hundreds of sea lions and several species of birds. The owner was very accommodating and went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed, complete with recommendations for eating places and directions to the grocery store. While our stay was short, it was enjoyable and relaxing. Just what we were looking for.

Loved This Little Cottage

We enjoyed our "Decompression" week at this lovely little cottage. Its every bit as nice as advertised. Short walks to most things La Jolla - and there's A LOT of seaside beaches and cliffs, shops, galleries, restaurants and cocktail lounges for adventurous pedestrians.
Two bicycles included! Very quiet, set back from street. Parking was OK - only once did we have to park a block away. You WILL be practicing Parallel Parking! Probably not a perfect spot for small children, or really more than two people, but that's all we needed. The outdoor private patio was as charming as the cottage.
As the airline TV ad says, "Wanna Get Away?". Here it is!

Cozy Cottage Close to Everything La Jolla

My wife and I thoroghly enjoyed our stay during the week of New Year 2013. The cottage is exactly as depicted. Being in such close proximity to La Jolla Village (and Cove) was a treat, literally a 5 minute walk. So close, but just far enough that it is completely insulated from the hustle of people and traffic on Prospect - nearly as quiet as being in the country! We only used our car 3 times in the entire week! Additionally, its a snap to drive anywhere in the San Diego area from there - major freeways only minutes away on the opposite side of Mount Soledad. The owner (Sary) makes sure you have everything you need, then let's you pretend as if its "your place". Highly recommend, especially for couples who want to get away from all the "stuff" of the daily grind, but still be close enough to "stuff" when you need it. Special recommend for Eddie V's restaurant and lounge above the Cove. Classy place with magnificent appetizers and views.

my husband and me went to visit our son studying at UCSD and we found at this cottage the perfect home to stay; Sary, the owner, was helpful and cute.
The cottage is in a terrific position in the village of la jolla and is close to everything you need.
The property reflects exactly what we expected from vrbo site, everything was clean and well-manteined.
We had really a great period and we hope to come back soon.
Now we consider the cottage our la jolla home!

Sary's La Jolla cottage is quaint and relaxing. It's in a great location and is equipped with all major items to enjoy your vacation (cruising bikes, small cooler for picnics, kitchen pantry, etc.). Don't miss the local farmer's market on Sunday.

A fabulous vacation

We have had a wonderful vacation and couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place to stay. Location? Perfect and although we did rent a car, we really did not need it. Grocery store just blocks away. Beaches within walking distance or to adventure further away, we had the bikes that are part of this rental. The cottage is very clean, safe, in a friendly community, and close to everything. It is so nice to stay where the person who rents it obviously understands and wants to please her guests so there are many extras that we have not found in other rentals. From previous reviews I anticipated a double bed but it is a queen and very comfortable. We have only positive things to say and highly recommend the Cottage by the Cove to anyone looking for a small place to stay in La Jolla.
