I am a freelance non-fiction writer, author, guitar and ukulele player, and a big fan of 'Old Florida' experiences and decor. My family and I have owned property in Sarasota County since 1950 and I have lived here in Nokomis year 'round for 15 years.
As an avid historic preservationist and lover of vintage style and culture, I enjoy sharing my experiences and love for 'Old Florida' ambience and local nature and history with my guests, and their enjoyment of my cottages and the area is so rewarding to me.
Casa Nokomis is in a charming historic district location with an atmosphere like none other in the area. Thoughtfully furnished and equipped to make your vacation comfortable and character-filled! It's in a fantastic location, within walking distance of antiques shops and restaurants and just a mile from beautiful Nokomis Beach and downtown Venice. You get 'Old Florida' ambience and a relaxing atmosphere.
Accommodations on the island of Venice can be costly and they sell out quickly. It's crowded in high season and Venice landlords can only rent by the month at a minimum. However here at Floridaloha, you can rent by the week or more and get to the island quickly and easily for shopping and dining, yet not have to drive through it to get to points north or south, or get to the Interstate to drive to other parts of the state. Nokomis is a gem, find out for yourself!
Authentic vintage Florida cottage style, but with modern conveniences and lovely parklike surroundings. A place that will make you smile and will leave you with wonderful memories.
Plus, a ukulele to play during your stay, and a free lesson if you would like one!
