The apartment is located in one of the historic and monumental “Stalinbauten” (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage), amid the most popular boulevard of East Berlin Karl-Marx-Allee. The old-building apartment counts 70sqm, lies in the 6th floor (US 7th). Of course with elevator. The flat is very bright, spacious and quiet. Your accommodation is located only 500 metres or one metro stop away from the pulsating heart of Berlin at the famous Alexanderplatz. Numerous tourist attractions in 5 minutes walking distance, on one hand you have the restaurants, bars, churches and museums in Berlin-Mitte and on the other the crazy nightlife in Berlin-Friedrichshain and Berlin-Kreuzberg with a lot of bars, clubs and shops. Moreover it’s completely modernized, has got 2 rooms with parquet flooring, including one digital TV, one kitchen and one bathroom. A supermarket, as well as a bakery and a wholefood-shop, is just a few meters away. A park and swimming pool you can reach in 5min walking.

the rooms: The flat is very big and bright. The floor is made of wood and feel+looks very good.

The living room is the centre of the flat: Very big and full of light, with a very comfortable double sleeping couch, a second separate chouch, a suite, two chest of drawers, lovely decoration and a TV-set, which you use as well for listening broadcast or watch a DVD. You will find a very personal and stylish decoration.

The classic bedroom is equipped with two comfortable single beds. Two lovely small bureaus beds and with readings lamps stands next to your beds.

The kitchen is tiled white and completely equipped: You have fridge with freezer, all crockery and pots you need. Furthermore you will find a microwave and a suite to enjoy your breakfast before exploring the city. The kitchen is well structured: All things can be storage into the big cupboard. On the other side has the kitchen a very personal touch: some decoration objects are presents from my grandmother.

• We provide our guest Wifi free of charge: You will get a stick which you plug into your laptop (Mac or PC). With this stick you can surf the web everywhere in Berlin. It´s completely free of charge for you.

• Bedlinen and towels: We provide our guests white ironed bedlinen and towels. The fee is already included in the cleaning fee.

• On request we provide you all you will need: bycicle, cellphone, restaurant booking, etc.

Normally I don´t rate hotels, but Peter kindly asked for it and we have had a great time in his apartment:
Short version: Cleanliness very good, location very good, booking procedure good. When I come back for another trip to Berlin I will definitely book this flat again.

Pros: very easy access to the U-bahn, an easy walk to Alexanderplatz, very spacious apartment, comfy futon in living room, owner very good to deal with
Cons: some traffic noise, lacking some dishes (especially glasses), floors could have used a good wash, slow internet

Overall, the apartment met our needs for a family of 4 with two small children. It was great value. We enjoyed our time in Berlin and would stay again.

First trip to Berlin

Overall a great value, expecially in our case traveling with two adult children that we wanted to spend time with, this flat worked perfectly. Photos of the apartment are a little bit glamorous (good studio lighting) as we had just a couple negatives: floors were pretty dirty when we moved in and we had to vacuum first thing; some walls and ceilings have splits or cracks; the wi-fi was pretty spotty and sometimes unusable. The check-in process was easy and worked exactly as the owner had explained, the cost was precisely as we had been told - so no funny business there. The fellow who met us at the apartment was friendly and very helpful. The location was excellent, very centrally located yet in a fairly quiet area. Very close to a subway station - so easy on and off. Plenty of dining out opportunities just within walking distance (highly recommend the Vesuvio's Italian restuarant just below the apartment). I would note that the tub is a pretty high step up/into and could be a problem for older or out-of-shape travelers. Strong water pressure, lots of hot water. Again, this doesn't compare to the luxury of a high-priced hotel, but it was overall a super value, very convenient, and I'd recommend it.

Pésima experiencia

Tuvimos problemas para comunicarnos con Péter, la persona que contactamos para la reserva, nos dijeron que ellos tenían muchos apartamentos y no podían ocuparse de cada inquilino. Fue muy difícil coordinar la entrega de las llaves. El apartamento no tiene nada que ver con las fotos que se exponen. Solo hay wi-fi en el comedor y se corta el servicio a cada rato. Las camas estaban sin hacer cuando llegamos y los utensillos de la cocina muy sucios. Dejó poco jabón y papel higiénico. No había cobertores suficientes para las camas. A pesar de pedirle que solucione estos problemas, en especial la conexión a internet y los cobertores, no hubo ninguna respuesta. Un apartamento para olvidar, es la primera vez que tenemos tan mala experiencia.

Great First Experience

I heard from friends about their great experiences of staying at apartments so on this trip, we decided to give it a try. Read reviews on many apartments and choose this one and very happy with my choice. We called Jozef when we left SXF airport in Taxi and he was waiting for us on arrival at apartment, he explained everything and told us about a Chinese restaurant nearby (great food). Metro is just around the corner and there is also a market about 10 minute walk from apartment, we bought bread, water and some other stuff. Apartment was clean, warm and very quite. We were just 2 stops from Alexander Platz on the train.

We enjoyed Berlin and the apartment, thank you Peter.

Great location, comfortable flat

We spent two weeks at Karl-Marx-Allee 64 and found it to be a good experience. The location was very convenient to transport, a grocery store and a couple of good restaurants (especially recommend Sage). Everything worked, it was clean and comfortable in an IKEA sort of way. Considering how nice the space and location is, slightly upgraded furniture would have changed our review from good to excellent.

Perfect in every way!!!

My brother and I wanted a five day stay in Berlin so we could see EVERYTHING listed in the Tourist books. We were so lucky to have chosen Peter's apartment in Strausberger Platz. It is in a lovely quiet neighborhood with grocery stores and restaurants close by, near the U-bahn and a 7 minute walk to Alexanderplatz! Clean, complete with all the accoutrements, it was truly the most perfect place to be if "doing" Berlin is your thing. I must say arrival, key exchange, and initial set-up was so easy and effortless. We started our Berlin extravaganza vacation the minute we arrived! Thank you Peter and your team for adding the cherry on top of our Berlin dessert.
