Allendale Vacation Rental: Allendale offers lake access via the community dock & boat launch (Buoy Marker 26) approximately 1 mile away. You can enjoy the community pool, tennis court and basketball court as well. We are approximately 7 miles from the Smith Mountain Lake State Park, which offers hiking trails, bike paths, beaches, fishing, and Virginia DARE cruises of Smith Mountain Lakes 500 mile shoreline. Among our favorites are the local orchards offering fresh fruit,restaurants, and drive-in movie . The National D-Day Memorial located in Bedford, VA, is just 12 miles North on State Route 122 from our home. The Memorial includes a museum, gift shop, and plaza memorial area with a triumphal arch, reflecting pool, allied flag displays, story wall and bronze statues honoring the bravery and sacrifice of Allied soldiers provide a fitting tribute to this historical event. This is one attraction you need to visit.
Nearby Surroundings: The Food Lion grocery store is approximately 3 miles away from the rental along with Lago Pizza, Subway, gas station and carwash just to name a few things. There are also numerous restaurants in the area located on Route 122, heading south approximately 5 miles from the Food Lion is Bridgewater Plaza, which offers Chopsticks Chinese Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Mango’s Bar & Grill, Mossie’s Restaurant & Bar, The Mouse Trap, Pizza Pub, boat rental and Family Fun and Games Entertainment Center.
