1 bedroom - King Loft, sofa bed, 1.5 bath, perfect for two, but can sleep 4

Pipe Creek Cabin is newly renovated with luxury linens and furnishings, library from a private collection, fully equipped kitchen. Services (maid, driver, chef, tour guide) can be arranged upon request. Pipe Creek Cabin is the perfect place for the person who wants to get away from it all. It is extremely private and perfect for the person who needs to finish that screenplay, book, project. Perfect for rest and recovery. Perfect for romance. There is no telephone, but there is strong AT&T cellular signal to service your personal cell phone or wireless internet card. There is satellite TV and an ipod dock. It is set on top of a hill on 12 acres. There is a spectacular view of the Texas Hill Country. It is rural property, so all wheel drive or SUV is highly recommended. The terrain approaching the cabin is steep and rough, but worth the drive. You will not want to leave once you get there, so bring whatever beverages and groceries you will need, park the car and relax.

The little things: There are hummingbird feeders during the warmer months and the little birds love it! There are a number of other birds in the area as well as resident rabbits, fox, deer and other wildlife. If there are any requirements that you have just let me know. Please remember this is rural Hill Country property and therefore great care needs to be taken when driving. The drive is steep and rough. A sports car will not make it.

Who should and shouldn't come: The person who is going to love this rural cabin has an appreciation for nature, art, serenity, the simple things. This person appreciates luxury linens, thick towels, lovely appointments, and privacy. Most anything can be arranged to make your stay exactly what you want, just ask and I will try to find it for you. The person who does not need to stay at this cabin is someone who wants a big night life, to drive back to the cabin after drinking, to entertain several people.

Extras: Meals can be prepared for you and left in the refrigerator for you to warm when ready. Drivers can be arranged if you want to go to San Antonio for a night with no worries about the drive home. Maid service is available on request. If I did not mention it in this listing, just ask. Most anything is possible.

About Susan Todd

Having grown up in San Antonio, I have always been close to the Texas Hill Country. This cabin was built by my father over a period of years. He used local craftsmen and took his time to make it the perfect retirement cabin. It is truly charming.

Why Susan Todd chose Bandera

After my father passed, I considered the options for this cabin and ultimately decided that my father would have wanted to share the serene beauty and privacy offered by this property with others. It is my first and only short term rental properly. Fortunately, those that have stayed here treat it as if it were their own. I am always surprised at the manner in which I find the cabin after guests leave. It is always is such great condition.

What makes this cabin unique

One of the reasons I decided to keep the cabin is because the views from the top of this hill are spectacular and there are not many hills like this one. The hill is like a peninsula and the cabin is at the top and VERY end of the road. It is a 360 degree view. Utterly private.

Beautiful place. Flawlessly decorated. All the amenities. Wonderful escape. Bring your iPod and enjoy the sound system or relish the incredible peace and quiet. Nice to know most of the items are a part of the family. Susan was extremely gracious and helpful. This is roughing it in style!

17th wedding anniversary

I am not really sure where to start! You have done an absolute wonderful job on this house. You have wonderful taste in decorating and I'm not sure what else you could do to make this house more perfect. My husband and I were here to celebrate our 17yr wedding anniversary and I am pretty sure this will be the one to remember! We will definitely be back and hopefully next time we will be able to stay longer than 3 days. I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving and again thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to share this wonderful place and making us feel at home.

2yr Anniversary

This was the perfect place for our 2-year anniversary. All of the exquisite attention to detail in provisions, furnishings, and decor made it truly feel like a home. We had all of our meals outside on the balcony, and with all of the windows, there was never a shortage of natural light or amazing scenery. This is a weekend that we will never forget, and we already can't wait to come back. Most sincerely and with gratitude...

Wonderful

What a wonderful remote cabin you have here at Pipe Creek. It is so quiet and peaceful up here atop the hill. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and the sounds of birds as they searched for their breakfast at your many well-stocked feeders. We also enjoyed hearing the occasional goat off in the distance :). Best of all was coming back to the cabin after a long day of adventures and having our nightly family pool competitions before sinking into the spec-comfy bed. Thanks for the top-notch linens and appointments throughout the cabin... it made for one of our best stays yet!

We were so pleasantly surprised by everything here - from the incredible view (and weather), right down to the poo-potpouri. :).
