We just finished staying 23 days in this condo, it was EXCELLENT!!! Exceptionally clean, very nicely decorated with wonderful pictures, nicely done....not over done! The furniture was comfortable, the flat screen tv's were great, the Ipod player a nice touch.Kitchen was very well stocked with everything from salt and pepper, spices, ketchup, mustard, flour, brown sugar, olive oil, ziplock bags, foil, saran wrap....everything that you could possibly want or need (saving us money by not having to purchase them!) We used the little cooler, the beach towels and the beach chairs. Having wireless internet was very convenient, being able to go out on the lanai and using our IPAD was great. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and the bath towels were fluffy and plentiful. The owner even thought to leave shampoo, conditioner, lotions, bandaids, and other items for us to replenish our small traveling bottles. The owner was extremely helpful if/when we had questions. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and was more than willing to share secrets of where to go with us.I would highly recommend this unit to my family and friends to stay here. One of our favorite low key restaurants is the Blue Moon, about a 5 minute drive south on the Piialani Hwy. Excellent food, pretty good prices. Their salads were made with the freshest greens and vegetables.....I couldn't get enough of them! We shopped at Costco for the majority of our items, and now with the gas station open at Costco it is the cheapest gas on the island, over 40 cents less expensive than everywhere else.
We were surprised at how many families with small children were at Sugar Beach at this time of the year, more than we expected....at times the pool area was quite crowded with little ones, but we still enjoyed every day!

My wife and I spent 16 days in the most comfortable, clean, and extremely well stocked condo since we have been going to Maui. The owner is extremely courteous and helpful. She is very easy to work with and on top of all phases of the process. You can rely on her to keep you informed of everything. I've told her, "She definitely has all her ducks in a row!" She has a wealth of information to share about Maui for anyone renting from her. Their well stocked condo makes it very easy to pack light. From the lanai you can see the ocean, well kept grounds and pool of the resort, and Haleakala. Views in all directions! The pictures on the VRBO site are accurate. Staff at the resort are pleasent and very helpful. Resort location lets you travel in any direction with ease. There are too many good places to eat to mention here but having meals in the condo and b'queing by the pool gives you many options. The dolphin watch trip to Lanai was well worth it. Many spinner dolphins swimming with the boat and 3 rays were an added extra. We will definitely return in the future!

This is our second stay in Maui at Sugar Sands Resort. First time in this unit. I would highly recommend this unit. It is beautifully decorated and well stocked. If you need it, it is there. It is a short drive to wherever you want to go. The place makes you feel like you are at home. This unit is clean clean clean! To me that is important!
We are already talking about a return to Maui next year and if so, this is the unit we would want to stay in.

My husband and I had never been to Maui before, and were referred to the Sugar Beach Resort through a friend. We were not disappointed! The property is very well-maintained and very clean. It has a great beach for lots of walking, both north and south of the resort. The gas grills were a fun meeting spot in the evenings to get to know other guests better, including a gentleman that we found to live about five miles from us here on the mainland!
As for the unit we stayed in, we were extremely impressed. Very clean, tastefully decorated, (I loved the clean, soft carpet in the living room and bedroom!) and stocked with all that you will need for your stay. We loved the fact that it's an end unit, and therefore really quiet. One of my favorite things was that in the shower there is a small window at the top of the wall and you can see palm trees swaying while you shower. Loved that. Also, dealing with the owner was wonderful. She was incredibly helpful, and quick to respond any time I had a question. She made the whole process of renting the condo very seamless.
Hopefully we will return to Maui, and if so, we would not hesitate to stay in this unit again!!

My husband and I researched for weeks and weeks before settling on this condo to rent for our 10th anniversary. I even called the owner and asked lots of questions (even after having e-mailed a bunch as well) and she was nothing but honest and helpful. We were looking for something affordable that was a little secluded, near a beach, with a view preferably, and at least a few beach items to help keep our packing light. This Sugar Beach Resort condo was perfect for all of that!

We loved the central location. It was a quick 15-or-so minute drive to the airport, Walmart, and Costco. It really was a convenient center for our activities all over the island. The beach itself isn't one of the best to play in, but that made it wonderful for running in the mornings together or walking at night. Often at sunset we'd head North and have a good stretch of beach all to ourselves! The grounds are kept in beautiful condition. It can be VERY windy here in the afternoons, so just be aware. We found the other resort owners/guests to be very friendly. I will add that we're in our early to mid 30's and it seemed most at the resort were older than us by quite a bit, but there were a few young families. Just an observation.

Concerning the condo, the owners have it extremely well-stocked with cooking supplies, beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, some beach totes, umbrellas, extra shampoo, golf balls and putters, even disposable shopping bags since plastic ones have been banned. We found the condo to be very clean upon our arrival. We loved eating breakfast on the lanai every morning watching the waves and boats below. This unit is on the end, and we found it to be very quiet. My husband could hear noise at night from the road, but it wasn't loud enough to be bothersome to either of us. The bed was firm but comfortable and a welcome place to repose at the end of the day.

I really appreciated the packet of information about the island the owners sent to us prior to our departure. I honestly carried that packet around with us as well as the unit's copy of "Maui Revealed" wherever we went. Between the two, we felt we had some wonderful advice for our stay! The owner was also kind enough to let us have a very late checkout since no one was arriving the next day, which probably was one of the biggest selling points for us. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we return to Maui someday. This condo really felt like "home" to us during our stay.

This has been our second stay in this unit and once again, it was amazing! The condo had all the same amenities as it did during our last stay and more!! We knew we could pack light as this owner is clearly very cognizant of what guests will need and makes the extra effort to provide these items (e.g. beach chairs, detergent, garbage bags, fully equipped kitchen, flat screen tv's, Ipod charger) to help make the guests stay more comfortable. We really appreciate all the little personal touches in the condo, as well as the cleanliness. The super comfy bed was new and sure was comfortable!! Sugar Beach is truly paradise and we love how quiet the resort is, as well as the neatly maintained grounds, pool and gardens. The view from the lanai is more and more beautiful each time we come and we can't get enough of strolling up and down the big sandy beach right out front, or watching the beautiful sunset right out front. I just want to start by Sending a BIG THANK-YOU to the owners!!!!! They were very helpful from the start and even helped me with renting another condo for our daughter, Mom and Mom in law. They were very organized and answer any questions I had very quickly which I appreciated :)
Now for the condo....All I can say is you have out done yourself (I am able to compare this to two other units as my Moms had one and my Aunty and Uncle Had another one) This unit is full stocked compared to the other units you will find EVERYTHING you need and the quality of the stuff supplied surpassed the other condos....My Hubby and I looked like a King and Queen in the Tony Bahama loungers while everyone else sat in the tiny uncomfortable beach chairs :) Condo was very quiet and clean the view of the pool an beach was beautiful. We also loved that it was a corner unit made it seem more private. The bed was super comfortable that has always been the biggest complaint my Hubby has anywhere we stay he didn't complain once about it being to hard or to soft (he is picky).
Resort very nice and everyone is super friendly and has a smile on there face we loved going down to bbq and chatting with everyone (everyone has some kind of cocktail down there :) loved that) and the hot tub in the evening. The other best part of the resort was it was close to everything and all the best beaches in my opinion :)
I could go on and on and I am so sad we had to leave I have fallen in love with Sugar Beach!

Our experience with this property was perfect from start to finish. The owner was so pleasant and helpful in every way. The property was very clean and fully stocked right down to the beach towels and chairs. it is obvious that much thought has been put into making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our Maui vacation.
