We held a family 3 birthday getaway here. What a great place to have fun and celebrate The house was SPOTLESS , very well equipped, and very conducive for family gatherings. Also, a very good value. We have already recommended the house to our friends. A definite repeat rental.

I recently stayed in this amazing home with my two young children. We celebrated my son's third birthday on Friday, hosted a baby shower for my sister in-law on Saturday, and celebrated my daughter's first birthday on Sunday. I stayed on the first floor with the huge master and my kids each had their own room downstairs. Elaine made the bed-rails available for my son who stayed in the queen bedroom and the crib was perfect for my daughter. There were baby gates installed on the stairs and all the cabinets were childproofed in the kitchen. (The doors that lead outside have locks up high so you don't have to worry about young kids getting out in the yard without supervision.) Elaine even supplied the highchair and made booster seats available as well.My in-laws slept upstairs in the other master and my brother-in-law slept in the queen bedroom upstairs. This layout of this house worked for our needs PERFECTLY!
I didn't have to pack any gear for this trip (HUGE BONUS!) - this house had everything and more! My kids loved playing on the playground out back and really enjoyed the wooden shed on the deck! The adults loved the space too. There was plenty of room to spread out and it was spotless. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything I could have ever needed. It was like cooking in my own home. The owners have included so many extras there is not enough room to rave about them all. The safety of my children was my biggest concern when looking for a rental and these homeowners thought of everything. This home gave me peace of mind and allowed me to have a wonderful, relaxing weekend with my family. The owners are a pleasure to deal with and go above and beyond making your experience special. I can not recommend this home enough. Just a short walk to the beach and a lovely neighborhood with friendly neighbors!

We recently rented the property for my brother's 50th birthday celebration. It was me and my six siblings without significant others and children. It was great! The house has a huge living area/kitchen that accommodated all of us around the TV. Great kitchen and enough beds for all of us. Elaine and Mark were so accommodating and gave us all the info we needed to have a great weekend. Other than the weather, it was a perfect vacation! Would recommend it to anyone.

We reserved this home for the Thanksgiving holiday for our group of 11 and we all fit nicely and still had some space to spread out. We had 6 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 3 to 15, The kids were entertained with all the activities, both inside and outside. There are board games and movies and video games inside, bikes, kayaks, etc. outside and a sandbox where our 3 year old spent all of his time "digging". The hosts were there when I arrived ahead of the rest of the group and an adorable little boy met me at my car and welcomed me. The kitchen is well stocked with everything I needed to cook a full Thanksgiving meal which was awesome and so unlike the ordinary places you rent where you have the bare minimum of everything and I wouldn't have even attempted to cook a meal of that size. Overall, this was an amazing experience and I hope they'll let us come back next year!

We spent a week here during the summer. We had 2 families with a total of 6 kids, all 5 and under. They loved the playground, the beach, the canal. We loved being in a clean place that was kid-friendly. The adults had a wonderful time catching up and hanging out together. The kids had a great time playing together. We even set up a mini-Olympics in the backyard because the Olympics in London had just ended. Such beautiful memories! Hope we can stay there again!

The house is an excellent place for families with young children. We brought our one year old with us for a long weekend with both sets of grandparents. You can have all of the conveniences of being at home. They provided a crib, high chair, strollers, child proof gates; everything that you want to have on vacation, but don't want to pack. The beach is between 1/2 and 3/4 of a mile walk on roads that have very light traffic. You do have to cross one fairly busy street, but any children that are old enough to be at the beach by themselves are old enough to cross that street.

The kayaks and bikes are also a great convenience. It's great to have the outdoor equipment that you want to have on vacation and not need to pack or pay extra to rent it.

I'd recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet place that has all of the conveniences of home and is within walking distance of the beach. If you're looking for the crowds, people watching, and restaurants of the Virginia Beach boardwalk, you'll be happier elsewhere.

Family group with little ones from 2 to 5 years old...extremely appropriate housing for little ones...gave the parents a few less things to worry about! Elaine was great with information on the area...even sent an email when there would be traffic issues due to concert in the area. Outstanding hosts! The house is actually closer to the beach than some reviews would imply. Kayaking was a great opportunity and the marshlands were within easy beginner paddling distance. The beach & neighborhood were quiet and family friendly. This really is the best supplied rental house we have used! Kudoes to Elaine!
