We arrived around 9p on a Saturday evening, which is prime restaurant time in NY, but we stopped @ Buenos Aires as instructed(right next door to apt) gave them our name and we were upstairs in 5mins. No need to say much about the decor, you see the pictures, no surprises, exactly what you get. Which is fine, b/c how cool does this apt look? Clean linens and clean bathroom. The perfect place to stay for a week of walking NY. Some of the oldest establishments in NYC are a quick walk from apt, which is the main reason we chose it. The apt is 1 blk from Tompkins Square, they have farmer's markets on the weekend, a few blocks from McSorley's Bar, Katz's Deli, Prune Restaurant, I could go on and on. THIS is a PERFECT APT to stay in. Subways a few blks away, no hassle there. Can get a bit noisy on weekend nights, but that's just NYC! Maria is more than accommodating, just a good vibe all the way around. We will ALWAYS want to stay here when we visit NY. East Village is a diverse neighborhood, everything you might need is right around the corner. Drug store, grocery store, corner bodega literally 20 steps to the left from apt door, open 24hrs and they make a good sandwich! I will continue to recommend this apt to all my friends and family. Thanks for a nice place to lay our heads after a long day of NY adventures!

Perfect Place to Stay

My boyfriend and I stayed in this apartment in the second week of october, and let me tell you it was perfect, the neighborhood is great is very close to everything, you can walk to subway station, there is a lot of grocery stores like in every corner, great places to eat, and the apartment is lovely, perfect to stay, I´m a chef, and the kitchen was perfect, it is equiped with the necesary. If you are traveling lite you can do your own laundry in the apartment. My first impresion was that it was a very clean place and cozy, when we arrived Maria had arrange everything so everything was on time and perfect for us to enjoy de apartment. Maria was very helpful specially because we are not from the states and she help us during the entire period of renting, Thank you Maria for a perfect vacation!!! we had a lovely time!

Everything was perfect, the people, the apartment, the neighbourhood. I went with my girlfriend for a week and we had a blast! Hope to visit the apartments once again and truly recommend it to anybody visiting NY.

Excellent clean and spacious apartment, had everything you could need and in a fun vibrant part of Manhattan. Dealt with Maria over the phone before our arrival and Mikey in the restaurant downstairs took good care of us. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The perfect place in the East Village

You cannot go wrong with this rental. It is even better appointed than the pictures show and a fraction of the coast of a Manhattan hotel room of comparable size (assuming you could find a room this large in Manhattan).
Ample space and many amenities. Maria and her family were helpful and the entire experience was smooth. You are near stores, restaurants and subways. Dinner at Buenos Airies restaurant was fantastic and the perfect kickoff to our stay. Like so many other reviews I cannot use enough superlatives to describe this great apartment and its owner.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in October and had a great time. The apartment had everything we needed for the week - washing machine, dishwasher, cable etc. The wifi wasn't working when we were there but there were lots of places close by with free wifi (I'm sure if we'd asked they would have looked into it). The apartment is in a great location with lots of bars, restaurants and shops within a few blocks. The bedroom window is right above a bar, this was only a problem on the Friday night, the rest of the time noise wasn't an issue despite being in a busy area. The guys in the restaurant downstairs were very friendly and helpful. As others have mentioned, we also had a bit of trouble getting in contact with Maria once we were in New York, so suggest contacting the restaurant if any difficulties. All in all would recommend this apartment.

The apartment was just like the pictures - nice open space and very clean. Wifi, cable TX, flat screen TV with Blue Ray DVD player were all nice touches (although we did not use the DVD). 2 subway stops within 7-8 blocks - a bit of a walk but not terrible. The elevator was nice to have after the end of a day of walking! Neighborhood is in transition with a lot of young people and therefore more geared to someone in 20's or 30s but it was easy to get to any neighborhood in the area so although we are in our 50's, it was no problem to get to where we wanted. Also, the food choices in the neighborhood were good with almost any type of food you would like - BBQ, Burritos, Thai, Indian, etc. Lots of vegetarian options as well and all reasonably priced. Maria and her daughter were very helpful. Enjoyed the stay.

This apartment was perfect for us!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this apartment for a whole week. It had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves, even through Hurricane Irene. It was very clean, exactly what you see in the pictures, with no surprises. The bed was extremely comfortable, as were the couches, which was great for relaxing after a long day of walking. We had a bit of trouble getting a hold of the owner, with good reason though, and everything was settled just before we arrived.
The location was perfect for us. We really felt like we were living in New York, with hundreds of amazing restaurants just outside your doorstep. It was a little bit of a walk to the subway, but this was perfect to map out where we wanted to go for dinner or drinks. Buenos Aires, the restaurant right next door, was absolutely delicious. There's a 'diner' a block away called 7A (7th St and Ave A), which was perfect for a yummy (not super greasy) breakfast.
We were very happy to have called this apartment 'home' for a week. We'll be recommending to our friends, and hopefully we might also return.

A little oasis

My daughter and I stayed at this apartment late August during one of the worst storms New York had experienced for 60 years, and the city shut down. So we were hugely grateful for the comforts, space and light aspect that the apartment offered and having good local facilities ie. a supermarket to get in food and water before the storm arrived. East Village is a great area with a wide choice of restaurants & bars, notably in St.Marks Place, to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Tompkins Square a great place to chill out and people watch. The area is very 'local' so some bars and shops remained open despite the weather, and with the metro closed we walked a lot but distances to East Park, Chinatown, Little Italy, Union Square are easy. Again the apartment and the area could not have been better for us given the extreme circumstances that NYC found itself in.
2 comments for consideration - the apartment could do with a broom and dustpan and I, personally found, the booking process very frustrating - just make sure you have a email confirmation because the calendar does not reflect bookings. Mike (Mark?) in the Buenos Aires Restaurant was a helpful contact. All in all I would return to this place and recommend to others as a genuine experience of NYC (minus the storm!).

Estuve en el apartamento durante una semana con mi pareja, y lo recomendaría a todo el mundo. Amplio, muy bien cuidado, perfectamente equipado. En un barrio lleno de bares y restaurantes, muy ambientado todos los días; supermercados, tiendas, metro a 4 manzanas y autobús casi en la puerta (por si no quieres andar esas 4 manzanas); y con ascensor; en resumen, de todo! Para mi gusto, sin comparación con la estrechez y lo impersonal de una habitación de hotel. Los propietarios lo son también de un restaurante argentino en el local contiguo al edificio del apartamento, lo que da muchas facilidades para la llegada, salida, el idioma...
