Welcoming In the New Year

What a fantastic way to welcome in the New Year - 'glamping' (glamorous camping) at Little Pond Lodge with my husband, sister & her honey! The four of us camp together spring through fall and thought, that this more glamorous form of camping (this was not camping - this was luxury!), would be perfect to ring in the new year & it was!!!
The two bedroom cabin provided us ample room and individual privacy when needed! We found the cabin cozy, clean and generously appointed for all of our needs. The only thing we brought along, was a card table with chairs to assure we would have the adequate place for several rounds of hearts & spades! The TV with Dish satellite provided us with a needed football fix on Jan. 1st. There were plenty of kitchen supplies to make our gourmet New Years Eve dinner. We loved holding happy hour around the outside fire ring a-blazed - mother nature even provided a few snow flakes to add to the ambiance! Being outside offered as much charm as being inside! The grounds are beautiful & although there were 3 other cabins on the campus, we felt like like we were in our own little corner of the world!
Justin, Meredith, Griffin & pups were hosts supreme! They were friendly helpful fun-loving people to have as our hosts!
FYI - we enjoyed some of our time at Buckhorn State Park. We got our 2012 Park Stickers as well as found a new favorite camp site. For added entertainment we took a jaunt over to Hustler, WI - to the Hooter Bowl & enjoyed 2 games of bowling - lots of laughs & the next day - lots of sore muscles..... but oh so very much fun & worth every sore muscle! The Buckhorn Cafe provided us with two satisfying meals - New Years Day breakfast was extra yummy!
We look forward to making this a New Years tradition and watching the Sornsin family grow! Have a blessed year!

We always appreciate people that are respectful and clean. :) It helps me out so much when our guests can do little things like take our their garbage, strip the beds and put away their clean dishes before checking out - ESPECIALLY now that I am cleaning cabins with a baby in tow. The cabin was fantastic with all the amentities you would need! Meredith and Justin were so kind and showed tremendous hospitality.(They are to be official Mommy and Daddy in about a month!). It was really special for us because they allow dogs (even our VERY large dog). Rocky thought it was Christmas morning every day! He absolutely loved the trails and all the ponds surrounding the property. So many close things to see and do--snowmobile trails, state parks; Castle Rock Lake with trails, swimming, and boating; Wisconsin Dells; Warren Cranberry Fesitival; antiques; or just hanging out on the front porch and playing some games or horseshoes. It was great and just what we all needed.

Beautiful Cabin!

We stayed at Little Pond Lodge in early March with the intent of snowmobiling. Well, lack of snow so the snomobiles never left the trailer! We still had an awesome time! Meredith was so friendly in the reservation process, and when we checked in. We could not have asked for better ammenities, everything was there! Can't wait to come back, maybe in Summer and then again a little earlier in the snowmobiling season. Thanks Meredith!

The lovely Little Pond Lodge

When planning our trip to WI, I tried to find a place where we could experience a real snowy winter. Somewhere where we could live for a few days just like the people there live. For us, who live in Brazil under very high temperatures, it would be fantastic to enjoy snow activities such as snowmobiling, snow walking, etc. I found just the perfect place, Little Pond Lodge is a dream, we felt like we were miles away from the city, but we were very close to Mauston, a lovely little city by the way, perfect location. The cabin is very well maintained by its owners, Meredith and Justin, there's everything we need to spend a wonderful time, it was so nice that sometimes we just wanted to stay by the fireplace and enjoy a good bottle of wine and have long conversations. The other couple who went with us share the same opinion, they simply loved it! The decoration is so nice and helps built a very cosy atmosphere. Snowmobiling on the lake was one of the nicest experiences we've ever had, it was awsome. If we have the chance, we'll go back some day for sure, but this time with our kids, they were crasy about the pictures we brought home. Congratulations to dear Meredith, who was very helpful since our first contac. Hope to see you again.

Amazing Place!

This was my first time using HomeAway to find a vacation rental AND the first time taking a winter vacation. It was definitely a positive experience. The cabins were clean and neat and it was so nice to come "home" after a day of exploring the area and/or skiing and have a fireplace and the kitchen to prepare our own meals. The pet friendly environment was a definite plus as well.
Meredith and her husband were the perfect hosts, always available for questions and to give us directions or ideas on what to do during our stay. They even helped us solve our DVD problem!
I highly recommend this location and, in fact, am hoping to be able to come visit during the summer as I would like to see it then too. It's right on the bike path which is also the snowmobile trail but even that wasn't a problem with noise and such.
The surrounding area is full of antique and craft type stores as well as cheese factory, cranberry museum and wineries. And only a short drive away from Wisconsin Dells. I'm sure there is even more we weren't able to see due to it being a holiday week (Dec. 26-30) that would make a return visit even more appealing.
I will be telling anyone I know that enjoys this type of experience about this location.
