The "log cabin" was really a "log home"...nicely appointed and fully equipped. You must be aware this property has a 7,000 ft elevation...very high! It is amazing that Lake Tahoe with all it's nightlife is less than a half hour away! The Carson River was very refreshing and we took advantage of it on a daily basis. Nice that there was a gas/propane bar-b-que~ because we grilled almost every evening. Keep everything inside...there are bears here! We also were there during the "Olympics"...which we got to enjoy from one of 4 televisions at any time!

Wonderful place for a family vacation. Time to re balance, reconnect and relax with family or friends. Great area for outdoor activities yet close to Carson City and South Lake Tahoe.

Perfect mountain getaway

This is the prefect place to stay if you want to experience some true mountain serenity. We stayed in this wonderful house for 12 days this Christmas and enjoyed every minute. The entire house is very tastefully built and furnished. A true mountain feel. Definitely a prefect vacation away from the city. I highly recommend it.

Quaking Aspen

Cozy cabin nestled among the aspen trees. Wonderful location. So peaceful and serene. LOVED sitting on the deck that over looks the gorgeous Carson River. Calming sounds of rushing water and quaking aspen trees....great place to relax and rejuvenate! Don't forget to check out the amazing night skies. My teenage sons had fun exploring the river while hubby enjoyed his daily naps in the great room. If you like hiking, drive up the pass towards "Lake of the Woods." A perfect day trip. Thanks so much for sharing your cabin with our family. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful 5 days in paradise.

We just returned home a few days ago from our 5 day vacation at this cabin in Markleeville. The river out front was great, the kids loved the swimming hole and panning for Gold. We went into Tahoe one night for dinner and it was only 20 minutes away. If you are looking for a nice, clean cabin where you can fish, bike and hike....this is the place for you. We are already trying to figure out a time we can visit again in the Fall.

Great Log Cabin on the River

This is a FANTASTIC cabin that exceeded out expectations. The exterior is beautiful, especially when one is takes in the view from the back deck overlooking the river. But the interior was even more impressive in that the photos don't do it justice. There are two bedrooms dowstairs, both service by a full bath, AND a master bedroom upstairs with its own full bath (and a fold out couch in the loft overlooking the downstairs and out the full length windows to the forest beyond) . We took advantage of the bbq on the deck, took advantage of the direct TV system, and took advantage of the roaring fireplace in the front room that was quick to light and easily heated the front living and dining room. The hiking, biking and fishing in the area is great, and Sorenson's lodge is just acorss the road a bit if you feel like dining out for breakfast or dinner. Again, we were very impressed and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a Sierra get-away.
