This guest house is truly your 'home away from home' and is centrally located to all Northern California has to offer. It is three miles from Downtown Los Gatos and resides on a five-acre property in a lovely country setting. After a full day of touring you can come back to lounge by the pool, have a swim, take a spa or just relax.

Los Gatos is a town in Northern California nestled in the foothills west of San Jose and has a wonderful downtown area with many restaurants and shops. The town prides itself on retaining its 'early California' feel with many of its original Craftsman and Victorian-style homes. There are many walking, hiking, and biking trails right at your doorstep as well as in and around town.

The guest house was built and designed with every comfort in mind. There is a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The dining table seats four and up to eight people when expanded. There is a television with DirecTV, DVD Player, VCR along with a Stereo with CD player. It is 650 square feet that 'live big' with 17 foot high ceilings. It has beautiful hardwood floors throughout and lots of glass to take in the beautiful California Oaks on the property... We've had some guest say with the shades up they feel like they are in a big tree house!

The guest house is a freestanding unit that sits over the garage & is connected to the ownerGÇÖs main house by a breezeway, The property itself is 5 wooded acres with a barn & corral, The guest house is 'California Lodge' style & is comfortably furnished, very 'Pottery Barn'. All bed linens and towels are provided. The Guest house has a Full Kitchen with Dining adjacent to Living Area, First Bedroom with Queen bed, Second Bedroom with 2 twins & Full Bath with shower (Pool Bathroom is available downstairs as a secondary Bathroom), Front door of guest house leads to a private deck with outdoor table & chairs that overlook the pool. There is also a Hotspring Spa! There is a Thermador Grill on the pool deck for afternoon/evening barbecuing, Will provide additional pictures of guest house & property upon request.

With this central location you are 3 miles to San Jose, 25 miles to Santa Cruz, 70 miles to Monterey & Carmel as well as just 55 miles to San Francisco, The local area has much to offer, Villa Montalvo in Monte Sereno & The Mountain Winery in Saratoga has its concert series which run spring through fall, There are many local area wineries which are open for tours & tasting such as David Bruce, Cinnabar, Kathryn Kennedy & Testarossa to name a few, Our local redwoods are just over the hill at Big Basin State Park as well as the ocean, beach & Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, Located just 15 miles from San Jose International & 43 miles from San Francisco International. Kim and Ed are delightful hosts! Very prompt and detailed with communications; extremely helpful with suggesting places to park, restaurants, and local fare. The guest house was a perfect location and perfect size for our family ( me, husband, and two kids [6 &9]) and clean. The kitchen nicely stocked and pantry had some items too. The beds - very comfortable. My kids loved being greeted by the dogs - we can only say wonderful things about our stay. I highly recommend.

Overall, a very pleasant experience. Kim and Ed are very gracious hosts. Got great tips for dinners and wine tastings. Easy access to town, just be careful on the winding road. Guest house itself very well appointed, kitchen very well stocked. We stayed for 11 days. It was great having a home base and not have to eat out every day. Will definitely return for another extended stay.

Lovely and Low Key

We had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect if you have business in San Jose but want to stay somewhere that's California-beautiful. It's a quick 15-20 minute drive into the center of SJ, or just a hop and a skip into redwood forests or over to the coast. Kim and Ed were welcoming and pleasantly low-key. We felt like part of the family, but with no pressure to socialize.

We stayed in the guest cottage for one month and it was just fantastic. The house is small but perfectly formed with everything you could possibly need. The pool is beautiful and my two children spent hours in it! Even though it's a short drive to the nearest store, it was well worth it. I was initially anxious about the dogs but they were just brilliant. My boys loved throwing the ball for Cody. I would highly recommend this house for anyone with children.

Cosy, well appointed property, extremely comfortable and very clean. Every amenity provided including pool towels and many cooking ingredients. Owners helpful and informative, but not in your face. Fantastic to have complete access to pool and hot tub, and monster gas BBQ! Animal lovers will be very happy with dogs, horses and cats on tap. Highly recommended.

What a great place to stay. Everything you could possibly need from a vacation rental and more. Being so close to town with all it has to offer was great and yet, coming back to the apartment in the evening was always something to look forward to, as it was so quiet and relaxing. Best of both worlds. Many thanks to Kim and Ed who made our stay easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend this lovely place to people wanting to visit the Bay Area. A real find.

We had a great time staying at the guest house last summer. We were visiting with family in the area, but didn't want to overwhelm our relatives with our large family. The guest house was clean, and had everything we needed. Our kids loved playing with the dogs and feeding carrots to the horses. We spent hours in the beautiful heated pool. Thanks Kim for a lovely relaxing spot to vacation.
