Perfect DC location!

Jay +3 Chicago, IL
Review Submitted: August 9, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
I stayed here while attending a conference for a few days at the nearby (and super expensive) Marriott Hotel. It was terrific, I walked two blocks to the hotel everyday for my meetings, stopping at Starbucks along the way!
On day 4, my wife and 2 children joined me and we had a great time seeing all the DC sites. We started right across the street at the National Zoo on the first day and then took the Hop on Hop Off bus to the Smithsonian, White House, Capitol Hill and all the monuments. The bus stop is also just 2 blocks away.

We had a lot of fun deciding what cuisine to enjoy, everything is right in the neigborhood and very convenient. We even took the Metro a few stops to the Friendship Heights shopping district which the ladies really enjoyed!

Apartment is well appointed and has all the amenitites of home. Great communication with the owner and she was kind enough to send us all kinds of brochures in advance so we could plan our tours.

We would definitely come back.
Owner's Response: Jay,

Thanks for coming, it was very nice to have you as guests, glad you enjoyed the neighborhood and all the conveniences.

Loved this place! I stayed here for a week while my sister attended a conference at the Convention Center in Washington, DC. The apartment is only a 15 minute drive to the Convention Center, and the tourist attractions are a short metro ride away. The apartment is very spacious includes everything you need to feel right at home and I thouroughly enjoyed relaxing in the outdoor common area with its beautiful garden and patio. The neighborhood is one of the best in DC, safe and clean with many restaurants and businesses within walking distance. Be sure to visit the Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens (about a mile and a half away). This place will definitely become my first choice for accomodations whenever I'm visiting the DC area.

Clean, Convenient and Charming

This apartment worked out wonderfully for us. Me, my husband, our two children, 4 and 6 and my brother stayed a week in September during a heat wave and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The location is very quiet and flet very safe. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook simple meals every night. A laundry room is located in the building right next door to the apartment and is very easy and convenient to use. There is no cell phone reception in the building (which is helpful to know in advance of your stay). Public parking is available at the Marriott Hotel about 1/3 mile away for about $35.00/day. We rented a car for the first two days to travel outside of DC, but after that were able to get everywhere we wanted via the Metro. The owner was very helpful and called us when we arrived to see if there was anything else we needed. I would definitely want to stay here again if I return to DC.
Owner's Response: Thanks much, glad your were comfortable and found our location so convenient. We look forward to your return!

Good Amenities, Pleasant Neighborhood

We recently stayed in DC for a week while showing our daughters the sights of the Capital. Our accommodations were very comfortable and we enjoyed the neighborhood. It was very nicely appointed, and we found the furniture comfortable and the apartment inviting. The neighborhood felt safe, and a variety of restaurants was handy. The Metro was about 3 blocks away. We would anticipate staying there again when we come back DC.
Owner's Response: Great to have your family, glad you had good weather and enjoyed all the fine restaurants.

Great Location, Very Clean & Spacious

As the other reviewers have already mentioned, this property is in a great location. The apartment is spacious, very clean and has a well stocked kitchen. The listing description and photos are accurate. Our group of 5 adults all enjoyed our stay very much. Within walking distance, we could buy breakfast groceries, delicious sweet treats at Firehook Bakery and wine. We had many choices for dinner and dined at Spices. (We're from Vancouver and have first-rate Asian restaurants so were very pleased.) There was a casual, inexpensive bar nearby with live music. I would definitely recommend this apartment to a friend.

Fabulous Location!

Lovely apartment in an historic building with all the conveniences! Ah... Cleveland Park - walk to everything - grocery, cafes, pub, fine or casual dining, one Starbucks within the same block and another only 2.5 blocks away along with a 24 hour store, gourmet grocery, CVS and a first run movie and the Metro! Loved the large capacity washer and dryer in the adjacent laundry room - so convenient. This is in a well maintained property in an established area, upscale area. I can't wait to return!

My family and I stayed at this lovely property for a week during Thanksgiving holiday and it exceeded our expectations. The apartment was warm and inviting upon entering, and every room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of drawer and closet space for the four of us and we loved the fact that we could prepare our own meals and eat together as a family in the dining room. The location is absolutely ideal. The National Zoo is across the street and there are a ton of restaurants to sample within a 4 block radius. Try "Spices' for wonderful Asian food and sushi, and "Sorriso" for fabulous Italian cuisine. There are two Metro stops close by and every other convenience you could want right in the neighborhood. This property was a 5++ and I'm looking forward to returning for another visit soon!
