There's not much to say that hasn't already been said, but I can tell you that this is the best play to stay for a couple who is looking to relax and enjoy the best of Hawai'i (not the tourist Hawai'i, the real Hawai'i). You feel like you're alone here and you're far enough away from town to believe it. We did a fair bit of traveling the island while staying here and it always felt like we were leaving civilization behind when we came home. It is fantastic!

Malia is awesome and could not have been easier or nicer to deal with. The house was very clean and comfortable for the two of us.

It's unfortunate that there is a giant house going up right next door, but you can easily block it out of your view and still enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the ocean straight out in front of this little cottage. You won't be disappointed, this is a great place to relax and unwind alone and undisturbed.

A tonic for the soul! Built on a secure lava ledge, the tides literally come in and out underneath you, as evidenced by the pond in the back yard that fills and empties - talk about unique! Mostly I loved being able to sit comfortably on the deck and read and write...and when the mood took me ...walk right over to exploring the ever changing tide pools - some deep enough to dive into, and enjoy the clear refreshing water. This little gem of a cottage way exceeded my expectations for simple, easy living away-from-it-all....bed most comfy...and comfortably equipped with mod cons that enrich the simple but idyllic setting. Delighted to have had the opportunity to enjoy this rejuvenating retreat!

My boyfriend and I planned a last minute trip to Hawaii and found this little house in paradise. We had the best time and would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for A Real Hawaiian Vacation! Even though it seems as if it's a remote location, it had everything we needed and then some. We spent 7 days there and loved every one of them!!! Snorkeling directly in front of the place, little convenient stores not to far away and great place to people watch right from our lanai! The best thing about this was waking up to the sounds of the ocean and not even having to lift my head from the pillow and seeing this breathtaking view of the tide pools and the ocean right from bed! It had all the comforts of being at home and we did not want to leave! Malia was incredibly nice and easy to deal with....we hope to go back again soon and are hoping this place will be available when we do! Yes, there is a place under construction but they were very considerate and didn't make noise early in the morning and actually they were hardly there and NO, it does not obstruct any of your views! As I said, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to vacation, honeymoon or just to take a break from the real world. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed 3 nights at this picture perfect gem of a cottage and wish we had stayed longer. From here, we travelled around the Island ending up at the Mauna Kea resort on the Kohala Coast. This too was a fantastic experience however our stay at this super cute litlte cottage was probably the most memorable of our 2 week vacation. First, the location on the tidepools can't be beat. We took walks around the local community and this cottage had the best views and location. There were great ocean breezes gently blowing through the open patio doors at night so sleeping was very comfortable. The fantastic, super comfortable bed also ensured great sleeps. The snorkelling.........what can be said! We had the chance to snorkel at Honaunau Bay, Kealakekua Bay, Hapuna Beach, and Kauna'oa Bay and I can honestly say that Kapoho Tide Pools are the best snorkelling that we experienced there. We saw the largest sea turtle that we had ever seen in these pools, the multi-coloured coral and copious varieties of tropical fish were better than any that I have seen. Directions from Hilo airport provided by Malia were perfect - the place was easy to find. Malia was wonderful to deal with and accomodated our request to adjust our dates with ease. You will love this cottage as much as we did. Mahalo Malia! Our next trip will be a longer one!

We stayed at the cottage in February 2012 and we loved it, it's awesome. The location is superb--directly in front of some of the best snorkeling on the island. The area is secluded, quiet, beautiful and definitely un-touristy.

The cottage is small but certainly has everything a couple needs--generous shower, great kitchen, big comfortable bed and an outside eating area that faces an incredible view. It's a perfect place to spend time together and relax.

We stayed 5 nights but could easily have stayed much longer. The ever-changing ocean right out front beckons with amazing snorkeling (sometimes mind-blowing), and we took advantage several times a day. Most afternoons we were out there nearly alone. Nights are very quiet with only the sounds of the ocean and the cocqui frogs and with no lights around the nighttime display of stars was brilliant.

Next year we want to stay even longer. Riki and Malia were excellent to deal with and we wish them all the best. This cottage is a real gem!

We spent our 30th anniv. here last week. Everything was awsome and enjoyed the tidepools which are full of fish and even seen a huge sea turtle on the last day. They are building a new home next door, but the workers were only there after 8 and left in the early evening and where not overly distracting.

Stayed for a wk ret’d 8/30/11. I agree Rikki (owner) was great and had the Aloha Spirit. If you are using a GPS, type “Pahoa” otherwise GPS won’t find it. Must share our “all time” favorite restaurant in Hilo, “Ponds” ask for a table by the pond and ask for fish food, our waitress was Glennis (off on Tues) She was the BEST!! Must do: Wed, Hilo Marketplace, Volcano, discovered the island and we zip lined awesome!! Very private cottage, and perfect for R &R.

This cottage is a perfect getaway on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is in a great location directly in front of the tidepools in Kapoho. You can see the sunrise right from the front balcony! The owner Riki was so helpful and wonderful to rent from. Thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us during our Hawaiian Honeymoon!
