Let me start off by saying Edinburgh has become my new favorite city to visit in Europe and has inspired me to come back and see more of the Scotland..what a lovely city and country! This apartment very much played a big role in our overall very pleasant experience and wonderful visit.
My family and I were in Edinburgh for a 4 day trip as I was participating in the Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon that weekend. I initially was very interested in the apartment because of its proximity to Holyrood Park and the start and finish of the race. Upon our arrival, I quickly realized that regardless of whether I was participating in the race or not, it is still in a great location. The second morning we were there, my husband, children, and I walked to the end of the street (a couple minutes walk) and entered the park. My children had a ball running all through the park and my husband and I enjoyed the stunning views of Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crag. Palace of Holyroodhouse, Holyrood Abbey, Scottish Parliament, and the Royal Mile are all right there as well within very easy walkable distance. The owner left us phone numbers for a car service, a taxi service, and a bus schedule. The city itself is very manageable by foot and when we didn't walk we were able to get a taxi quickly and for a reasonable amount.
The apartment itself was perfect for our family of four (myself, my husband, my children-age 12 and 9). Gordon, the owner, could not have done more to make our stay more pleasant or easy. We were able to make payment initially through Paypal (either in US dollars or pounds) and then were able to arrange with Gordon, once we arrived, how to pay the remaining amount. We were not fortunate enough to meet Gordon in person, as he was out of town, but we were able to contact him by phone when we needed to ask a question. He also called us to check in and make sure things were going well. Upon our arrival, we were very impressed to find fresh milk, eggs, yogurt, spring water in the fridge and coffee, snacks, bread, cereal in a basket on the kitchen table. Very thoughtful and very much appreciated. We did not do alot of cooking, but the kitchen was well stocked should you desire to do so. There were many other thoughtful touches...extra brand new toothbrushes in the bathroom should you have forgotten yours, as my husband did ;), fresh towels, sheets on the bed, iron, hair dryer, umbrellas, DVD's, books, etc.
Wonderful experience, highly recommend!

Owner's Response: All good and well , as long as you all enjoyed Edinburgh . That's my goal.
I wish I could run a marathon . ( but running for a bus is my stretch ) haha
All the best
