Photos and Description of the Kailua Kona vacation townhome rental
Townhouse, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)

Oceanfront Townhouse in Kailua-Kona!

From the palm tree adorned back patio of this oceanfront townhouse, you will enjoy magnificent and unobstructed views of the ocean, stunning sunsets, breaching Humpback whales in winter and playful spinner dolphins all year.

Ocean views are visible from the living room, kitchen, upstairs bathroom and upstairs bedroom. The townhouse embodies your dream home-by-the-sea. Even the furniture, which is either tropical or Hawaiian, keeps with the 'island theme' expanse, preserving the aura of a tropical get-away.

Mornings and sunsets are our favorite times, and will most likely be quite memorable for you as well. In the morning, relax in a cushioned chair, delight in a delicious cup of world-famous Kona coffee, and prepare for another day of island adventure. In the evenings, enjoy pu-pu's and a glass of wine while the sun sets over the sounds of the surf and scent of the Pacific Ocean over another perfect day in Kona.

Part of the quiet and prestigious Keauhou-Kona Surf and Racquet Club, this gated community boasts a garden setting on 17 acres surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the world-class Kona Country Club Golf Course.

Included with the rental are parking, three lighted tennis courts, a large swimming pool, picnic area, gas and charcoal grills, and unlimited high speed wireless internet. Located only 4 miles from downtown Kona village, and also within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and a multi-plex movie theater. Kahalu'u State Beach Park is only minutes away by foot, teeming with colorful tropical fish and foraging sea turtles, making for some of the best snorkeling on the Island. Within and surrounding the townhouse are numerous petroglyphs and heiaus remaining from the time when ancient Hawaiians ruled the land.

Resort Information: Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club Resort is a four-star resort located oceanfront near Kahalu'u in the Keauhou area of Kailua-Kona, Big Island, Hawaii - approximately four miles south of the Kailua-Kona Town Center or the Kailua-Kona Pier. T

The Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club Resort is located in the center of the Kona Coast. The Keauhou area is known for calm winds and warm, sunny days because it is located on the leeward side of Mauna Kea, the 13,796-foot-high (above sea level) mountain that is the highest point in all of the Hawaiian Islands. In fact, if Mauna Kea's height is measured from its base (18,000 feet below sea level), it surpasses even Mount Everest as the world's highest mountain (31,796 feet) Before modern times when the trade winds were blowing cold winter air down from the northeast, the Hawaiians would travel to the Keauhou Bay area for shelter and warmth.

Nice Townhouse

We stayed during Ironman Week for a member of our family in the event. It was just far enough away from town to be peaceful but close enough to get to needed events. The townhouse is right on the ocean so the view and sound of the ocean is wonderful. Tennis courts and pool are right by townhouse. The townhouse had everything we could have needed or wanted. .5miles from beach good for snorkling and we made friends with a sea turtle. Grocery store very close. Swimming with dolphins is not to be missed. Manaray swimming was good and between 2 - 1/2 hours to volcano. Town has restaurants, bars, stores such as Walmart, etc. Landlord was wonderful and very helpful even though remote.

I think the listing understates how nice the location is. The property was clean and well-mainted and we will go back.

Wonderful time

Absolute Oceanfront Townhouse

We stayed here for 15 days in June 2012. The kitchen and bathroom were recently remodeled. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai for breakfast and dinner, and saw spinner dolphins. This unit is not air conditioned but has a lot of ceiling fans, and it is very close to the pool for an afternoon dip. It is directly on the ocean, and you can hear and see the waves crashing against the lava rock. It was a wonderful place to watch the sunset every evening.

This unit was ideally located for us. It is close to Kailua-Kona and the farmer's market, shopping, and the Kona Brewing Company (a wonderful restaurant). It is very close to a marina (about 5 minutes) where we took a cruise on the Fair Winds II to the Captain Cook monument. It was clearly the best snorkeling on the island. We also found fantastic snorkeling at Two Step (Honaunau Bay), just a short drive south.

On the road, we found an outstanding organic bakery with amazing chocolate chip, macadamia, banana bread. We also found the Kona potato chip factory where you can find discounted chips which just as good as the ones in the grocery stores.

We saw wild turkeys on the property and there are tidal pools which are close, where we saw sea turtles. We went to the volcano and waterfalls near Hilo where our daughters took the Eco Adventures zipline tour over a waterfall. This was the highlight of the trip for them.

There is Costco on the end of town near the airport. Gas prices here were 70 cents less per gallon than any of the other gas stations. Costco also had fresh seafood and macadamia chocolates.

Patty was great to work with, and we thoroughly enjoyed our entire visit. We also drove north to the beaches of Kohala (A Bay, Hapuna, and Mauna Kea). These were all beautiful beaches but the snorkeling was definitely not as good as Two Step and Captian Cook.

All and all we had a wonderful vacation, and we will definitely come back.

This townhome was a perfect for us. We were traveling with our 84 yr old mother and she couldn't have been more pleased. We would go snorkeling for the am and she was so happy to sit and watch for whales and dolphins.. (yes we saw both). The location was ideal for short day trips. It was hard to get her to go home. We will be back

Beautiful and Romantic Getaway!

I stayed here for a week in July of last year and wow, what a stunning place! Literally ON the OCEAN, you can hear waves crashing as you sleep. ROMANTIC and cute, this place exceeded all my expectations. Walking distance to a small beach with tide-pools, and close to any activities you could think of in town, it is a DREAM spot. It is right across the street from the pool and there was fully-stocked cupboards with spices and some basics, and the grocery store is right up the street. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comforting and cute rental in the heart of Kailua-Kona.

Our family of four stayed here for 10 days in June 2011. Very nice property with everything one needs for an Hawaii vacation. Unit was well maintained and clean. Everything worked fine. One of best located units in complex as it is across from the pool and tennis courts, close to the grills, and on the waterfront area that has a cement patio. Nothing disturbs the view of ocean and sunsets. Good ocean breezes. Unit is well stocked with most basic food staples so look before you go buy more. We used some and left more that we bought. Unit also has four boogie boards, three snorkel sets, tennis rackets, fishing poles, and more. Patty is great to work with and set up Pay Pal account so we could pay online. Great area location too with a shopping mall with a Longs and grocery store less then 1/2 mile away. We walked to local beaches, shopping, and there is a great farmers market next door. The Kona Trolley service comes by the hotel next door and by the main gate if you prefer not driving. We highly recommend this unit.

Perfect family location

Located right on the ocean and directly across from the pool this condo provided the best of both worlds for our family. Waking up to the sounds of the waves, sipping coffee as we watched spinner dolphins play off shore, my boys counting the minutes until the pool opened to go for their morning swim. The resort is a short drive (or a nice morning run) to Kona and within walking distance to a local snorkel beach. A shopping center is located just up the hill and hosts outdoor entertainment in the evenings. The condo is clean and nicely furnished, not very spacious but with a back patio leading to the pacific we did not spend much time indoors! There is a charcoal BBQ which, once we mastered, we cooked dinner on most evenings. Few restaurants provide an ocean side view and sunsets like this. Back to the pool for our nightly swim in the dark, and after tucking two very tired boys into bed, it was time for a glass of wine on the patio. The sound of the waves and the warm ocean breeze are a distant memory now as we wrap ourselves up against the San Francisco fog, but my 10 year old recently summed it up in a school essay when he wrote, " it was the best trip of my life and I will never forget it" We look forward to returning.

A Perfect Condo

I am extremely pleased and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this condo. The condo is very comfortable and clean with all the necessities included, from kitchen and bedding to water sports and beach needs, so that a person is able to just walk in and enjoy. The lanai is a perfect area to enjoy meals and relax, while taking in the pleasure of a full view of the Pacific Ocean, dolphins playing, and the beautiful Hawaiian sunrises and sunsets. The location of the condo, I feel, is the best in the complex because it is right on the coast which makes it very accessible for walks on a path over the lava rocks and along the coastline.

For an added special touch, particularly for those who enjoy history, a Sacred Heiau is located across from the condo and next to the pool and tennis courts and another one is located within the complex. The Heiau is a great observation to how the Hawaiian people lived so long ago.

I would highly recommend this condo for a perfect Hawaiian vacation rental.

This town house exceeded our expectations! We arrived to find that the ocean is about 20 ft. out the back sliding door, and the pool is across the parking lot from the front door. It really is the owner's home-away-from-home and it felt very comfy and welcoming. All the things we'd want and/or have in our own home were there. We loved the sound of the ocean hitting the sea wall behind the home, the bird noises from the beautiful plants, the silence and tranquility, and the exquisite view. As for comfort, the beds were great and though there's no central air conditioning, there are ceiling fans in each room. Couple those with the glorious sea breezes and you have serenity, relaxation, and comfort.
On the practical side, there's a shopping center 1/2 mile away with a large drug store and supermarket, and some great restaurants. If you want a massage, we highly recommend Ali'i Massage on Ali'i Drive. Heaven!! We went to the Island Breeze Luau and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Huggo's, Lulu's, and Rosa's Cantina were also great. We cooked at the townhome several times, using the barbecue too. Jack's Diving Locker is the place to go if you're diving and/or snorkeling. A great crew, great value, great boat! You'll remember the Manta Ray night dive the rest of your life! Remember to go the the volcano, and if you want a really unique experience, we suggest Thurston's Lava Tube. Take a flashlight - the last 1000 feet are astounding!!
Working with the owner was a pleasure. Everything went so well, we feel blessed to have stayed at this home. Enjoy! Mahalo to the owner and Aloha!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The condo is RIGHT on the coast. You open the sliding doors and the ocean is right off the lanai. The pool and tennis courts are right outside the front door which we really enjoyed. The condo is about 5 miles from the "action" on Ali'i Drive. There are several beaches that are within walking/biking distance, but the nicer beaches are about 20 miles away on the Kohala Coast The condo had everything we needed with a welcome gift of wine, coffee, and chocolate. The condition of the condo is"good"- it isn't "luxurious," but is fine and very comfortable. We would stay here again.
