We frequent Central America for business and pleasure. This trip was with family. We started our 9 nights in Nicaragua here. The house is wonderful. Clean, modern, comfortable, well stocked. The views are amazing. The pool so much fun. But the best part was swimming and floating in the lagoon. We visited Granada one day and Masaya the next. Great location for sightseeing. Even better to come home here. We asked for dinner one evening and the food was well prepared. Directions to the house were excellent. Great choice with friends and family as a base for sightseeing.

Absolutely beatiful! This was our first visit to Casa de Sol, but will definitely not be our last. Our kids enjoyed the pool and lagoon. The staff was professional, and helpful. The location of the house is private and secluded, yet close to the city of Granada, and Masatepe.

My family and I recently stayed at Casa De Sol,we cant put into words how nice it is. It truly took our breath away when we pulled up. The house is incredible, there is more than enough room if you are travelling with friends. It was amazing to wake up to the view of the sun rising over the laguna every morning. Nelly is so sweet and does a great job keeping the house clean.
The yard is beautiful and you cant beat that view! The location is great, with lots of small restaurants to visit in the park and only about 10 minutes to either Masaya or Granada.

Casa del Sol was the highlight of my time in Nicaragua. The staff are phenomenal and eager to help you with anything. The food they cook is amazing!!!

The house is gorgeous- peaceful- spectacular location.
Comfortable beds..very clean. Nelly was friendly and help us a lot.
I stayed in the house with my husband, my 2 years old boy and some friends..
The broken refrigerator leaked, since the minute we arrived, the freezer wouldn't keep a ice cube frozen.. And I have a lot of problems keeping, my baby's milk cold...the only saving grace was that we experienced this trip with good friends who have all have a great sense of humor... Make sure, the electronics are 100% funtionals..

We stayed here over Christmas 2012 and had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful, well maintained and the staff is very helpful. The owner, Tamara, and manager, Alberto, were able to arrange to have a driver meet us at the airport when we arrived late at night at Managua so our first morning we woke up to gorgeous views of the lake. The pool is wonderful, swimming in the lake was great fun. There are plenty of spots with fans to relax and enjoy the great views. Nelly the housekeeper kept everything clean, the cook Mercedes was wonderful. Alberto organized taxis for us whenever we wanted to go exploring in Granada or Volcan Masayo.so we never felt housebound. It was simply the most wonderful and relaxing Christmas we've enjoyed in a long while.

We live here in Nicaragua and one of our favorite places to visit is Laguna de Apoyo. It is very peaceful and relaxing crater lake that is only 30 minutes from a handful of great things to do and see (Masaya, Granada, Volcan Mombacho, Las Isletas etc). This trip we brought stand-up paddle boards to the lake, which was so fun! This house is the best place to stay on the lake. The pool and house have breathtaking views, the staff is amazing and the house is equipped with everything you might need. We will be back!

Our family spent Thanksgiving break at Casa del Sol and I truly cannot put into words how amazing our entire experience was. The house is wonderful -- lots of room for everyone to spread out, comfy beds, hammocks, an awesome pool -- and the staff just raises the whole experience to another level. Alberto met us at the airport and had already stocked our requested groceries. He was a great source of info both before and during our trip. Nelly is so kind and helpful and such a hard worker -- she kept the place spotless all day round. And my how we miss Mercedes' breakfasts every morning -- such a great way to start the day!

Laguna de Apoyo must be seen to be believed --- completely pristine and hardly anybody in or on it. In our time there, the only other people we saw on the lake were 2 kayakers one day. Otherwise, we had it all to ourselves. Amazing. It is such a relaxing place -- and the nighttime stars are spectacular -- but you are just a quick and easy drive to Granada, Masaya, and countless other towns and villages. We rented a car and felt it was pretty easy to get around with a GPS, but if you'd rather, Alberto can arrange for drivers to take you around just about anywhere.

It was our first time to Nicaragua, but we will certainly be back -- loved the country and the people. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Tamara and Don have done a great job with the place and are a great resource on travel in the area -- they always responded promptly to any questions we had (which were many given that it was our first trip down there) and were just wonderful to deal with from beginning to end. We can't wait to go back!
