The White Salmon Getaway, is the perfect place to relax, when you want to get away from the city and enjoy nature. Our family friendly home is wonderful for family vacations and reunions. Located in White Salmon, WA surrounded by nature and equipped with everything you need to make some fun family time.

5 acres on a creek, a furnished deck with BBQ, fire pit, trails and fenced pastures for riding mountain bikes or motor bikes, there is something for everyone. There is even a mini cabin for two. There are three bedrooms in the main house, with Queen beds and two full baths.

The living room is furnished just right for visiting with friends and family. There is a divided sitting room for the children or the person seeking solace. The dining room hosts a wood burning fireplace and provides access to the furnished deck.

The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you need for preparing meals, with an electric stove/oven, microwave and dishwasher. The laundry room/mud room is located off the kitchen with outdoor access. There is no cell phone reception from the house. There is a land line telephone with no long distance. Please bring a phone card. There are two TV's, no cable, one DVD, one VHS and Play Station 2 which will also play DVD's. There is dial up internet service. No Air conditioning. In addition to the wood burning stove, there is central heat in the main house. The mini cabin has a wall heater.

We enjoy watching wildlife walk through the property, we have camp fires and roast marshmallows at the fire pit, ride our ATV's around the property, see the stars, walk on the trails into the woods and love listening to the creek just off the deck.

The quiet of the country

We had three very restful days. The house was lovely and the location was great. The weather was rainy but this only added a fairy tale quality to the Cascade mountains and the Columbia river gorge. Every body we came in contact with were friendly, ofered good advise on what to see and do, and seemed really concerned that we enjoy our visit. At the house at night we listened to the CD-s, read our books, and watched movies on the DVD player. During the day we went for nices drives to Mount Hood and the waterfalls on the Gorge. We went for some nice long walks. We had some very nice meals at some local restraunts in White Salmon and at the lodge at Multnomah Falls. We sampled wine at a local winery in Mount Hood - and ended up buying a case. We shopped at some nice poterry and art shops in White Salmon and Hood River. It may not sound exciting but we totally loved it. If you are looking for a place to unwind I would highly recommend it

Quite and roomy

We loved the house. We were visiting from Texas, and the weather and views were beautiful our entire trip (No Rain!) The drive from the gorge was a bit far at first, but after a few trips it didn't seems to take as long. We had family up from the camp ground at the gorge one night and babrbequed on the deck. Everyone had a great time, visiting and hanging on in the back yard. Thanks for making the first few days of our trip memorable.

Our family loved this place. Lots of open space for the kids to roam and a nice little hike just out the back door. Everything was clean and comfortable.

We also enjoyed the town of White Salmon. There are two great restaurants: Henni's and Everybody's.

A hidden jem

It's an amazing property off the beaten path. It's about 10 miles (20 min) from White Salmon. It's a nicely equipped, very clean 3 bdrm house wtih w/d, Weber propane grill, nice deck, and a creek in the back yard. Everyone, including our dog, had a great time. Will stay there again.
