First Timers in Ludington

What a perfect week our family had on Hamlin Lake. The house had everything we needed, all the pictures, reviews and details on the website that we used to make our decision to stay here were well beyond accurate. The location of the property on upper Hamlin Lake is in a great spot, easy access to all the beaches and dunes with the pontoon boat we rented. I called the property manager before we arrived asking random questions about the place and he was more than helpful answering them and giving some tips and ideas as well. The deck and yard were big and spacious as advertised. Plenty of room in the bunkhouse and the main house, we had 6 adults and 2 kids in our party. We visited downtown, the childrens musuem (which was fantastic), watched the Badger take off into the sunset from the lighthouse pier, drove into Ludington State Park and swam in Lake Michigan riding the waves in our inner tubes, fished, and relaxed a lot on the beautiful beaches soaking up the sunshine. Only problem we had was finding a boat to rent. I called 3 weeks prior to our trip and luckily the last place on my list had one left for us. So I'd recommend calling a lot earlier than we did. We rented it for the week which was well worth it, used it everyday except one. We were glad in our decision to rent this house as opposed to a resort cabin or cottage and staying in a complex. The price was good, well worth it for the week and its so much nicer staying at your own place, so to speak. The neighbors were friendly and having your own view off the dock looking out on the lake was perfect. Thanks Andy, and thanks as well for answering all our questions when we first called regarding the place. We will be back!
