We have just spent 9 nights in this apartment and we were so impressed. It is really huge, by any standards, but in Manhattan it's simply amazing! There is a full kitchen, good sized bathroom with bath, seperate bedroom and large outdoor courtyard. There is a laundry downstairs which is shared with just one other apartment. The apartment was very stylishly decorated. Michael the owner was fabulous, very welcoming and full of suggestions of things to do and places to go.

We were travelling with our 8 month old daughter and Michael was able to provide a nice portacot and high chair. It was so great having the space, kitchen, laundry and bath with a baby.

The subway is a couple of doors down and an express train will get you to midtown in about 12mins. There's a supermarket, pharmacy, Starbucks and some take-away places very nearby. A number of restaurants deliver to the apartment.

We found Harlem safe and friendly neighborhood with lots of places to explore.

We would highly recommend this place to anyone.

My husband, 2 of my daughters and I stayed in this wonderful garden apartment during our last visit to NYC. I was there to have a neurosurgical procedure at Columbia. This apartment was very close to the hospital. It was a great place to recuperate. The garden was beautiful and a wonderful outdoor haven in the middle of the city. We have stayed in another of Michael's apartments before so we expected this stay to be just as wonderful. We were not disappointed.

What a perfect place to stay if you are visiting New York. This is our second time at 710 and like before Michael was more than welcoming when we arrived. The apartment was immaculate with no expense spared on the decor along with lovely furniture. I don't know about you but when i book a holiday i look to where the place is in relation to all that is going on. I must say this place ticks all the boxes. It is a stones throw from the nearest subway and by means of either A or C underground trains you can be in the heart of the New York shopping areas such as 5th to 7th avenue in 15mins including the train ride! Should you take a number 1 train from the subway next to the apartment within 40mins you will be at statten island ferry, looking at the statue of liberty in an hour, fantastic.
When you tell people you are staying in Harlem they look at you funny however this is the 2nd time we have stayed at Michael's apartments and the people around were great, the surroundings include chinese takeaways, fish and chip shops, hairdressers, supermarkets, i could go on, its all there.
We are planning to visit New York in 2014, We will definately stay here again, brilliant.

My experience with HomeAway was exceptional in every way. This was my first time not using a hotel while visiting NYC. Quite honestly, I was a little nervous. My flight was delayed and I arrived just before midnight. Michael met me with a smile and a warm welcome. I was pleasantly shocked at how beautiful the apartment was, even more lovely then the photos!

The reason for my visit was to connect with my daughter who attends college near the city. I wondered about safety for the two of us and can say that I felt safe and secure as I wandered throughout Harlem. One day I took a 48 block power walk back from a restaurant to "see the sights and feel the vibes" of this part of the city. What fabulous architecture.

The apartment has all of the amenities of a lovely home. It used to be a jazz club "back in the day". Character and charm abound, yet the apt is so warm, clean and modern. I loved the outdoor garden. Where do you get this in NYC?

We ate at "The Red Rooster"restaurant in Harlem. Wow! Fabulous food, a woman singing bluezy jazz. It was incredible. Michael has great food recommendations, in fact, he is quite the consierge.

The proximity to the center of NYC is easy to navigate by taking the express subway on the corner. Very easy to get around.

I will definitely stay here on my next visit.

Words or pictures don't do this apartment justice! It's bigger and more lovely than it even appears. Very quiet with a beautiful outdoor space. The gentle rumble of the Subway makes it feel very NYC! The location, mere steps from the subway, was great. Grocery stores & banks all very close. Owner left a detailed map with local restaurants. Beautiful walking area around City College and Convent Street. Will definatly stay there again!

I spent 5 weeks at this apartment while I was helping my daughter, who lives nearby, with her new baby. I can vouch that everything was as promised. The owner is very helpful and accommodating. The garden is very nice, but I didn't have the chance to enjoy it to the full as I was at my daughter's most of the time.. All the same, it is nice to have a glass of wine out there on an evening.

The apartment was spotless when I arrived. There is a very nice lady to help with the cleaning if you are staying long term.. The AC and heating systems tend to be a bit noisy just as the nearby subway trains, but one soon gets used to the sounds.

Two supermarkets and two pharmacies are within walking distance, not to mention the liquor store which is steps away. The subway station with 2 local and 2 express lines is around the corner, hence you are well connected to downtown. But there is a lack of good restaurants/cafes in the immediate vicinity -- only a Starbuck.

I would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone who requires easy access to the more trendy parts of Manhattan.

I stayed there with my two adult daughters and we found the space very pleasant. The bathroom is small but adequate. (anytime you have one bathroom and three women, it's going to seem small!) I slept on the "day bed" in the living room and it was very comfortable. As mentioned by another reviewer, you can hear the subway through the floor in the early morning and although it woke me, it didn't keep me awake. It was certainly very clean. Well located for getting into the sights. Michael made check-in and out very easy and kindly stored our bags for us when we weren't leaving until the evening. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment, but I see that he has raised the price and I think, sadly, it will stop me from returning.

We were in the Garden apartment for the second time, and again we had a wonderful stay. Now we have been there in August, and around the corner of the house (5 minutes to walk) there is a big swimming pool, where you can swim for free. The only thing you need is a towel, a lock (to close your personal locker) and a bag. This was a big pleasure on the sunny days.
A big plus of this apartment are the cooking facilities in combination with the supermarket where you can buy everything for a good homemade meal for good prices.
Again, Michael and his team (Tracey the housekeeper) were wonderful. Their hospitality, service and enthusiasm makes that, if we ever come back to NY hopefully, we never want to stay somewhere else. For our other information see our review of May 2010.
